Adios, Barney!

Today is a special day for Barney. We decided that it was time for Mr. Stinky to have a bath. Our local doggy day care has a deal that if you play all day you get the bath for free, or you pay for the bath and you get the play for free. Either way, Barney is at day care right now.

So this morning I'm running late (story of my life) and I pull into the parking lot. I get out of the car and there are 2 little kids there, just being put into their car seats. Barney is ectastic when we pull into the parking lot--he know exactly where we are. Anyways, so I open the trunk and out he pops before I could even reach for the leash. He jumps out, looks around sees the kids, runs to them, pauses, then keeps running. I was actually quite scared because he was SO excited that he wasn't listening to me at all. Usually he'll come when I call, but he kept running. At least this parking lot wasn't off the main road, but back a little ways, but it is also a parking lot for a car repair place, so people coming into the parking lot might not know to look for potentially crazy-running puppies.

Finally another dog owner was there and she helped me to gather him (she was in gym clothes, I was teetering on high heels)...

So, hopefully Mr. Barns will get his energy out all day with the daycare and then the bath...

Yikes...

Yikes is right! Hope Barney has a great day! I wonder how they can manage to give all the dogs baths. . . That's quite a deal. Hope he comes home smellling wonderful!
Such excitement! I'm glad he wasn't hurt. At least you have a yummy-smelling puppy to look forward to tonight!
I CANNOT wait to have a yummy smelling puppy. since it has been raining so much he just goes out and his fur gets wet and he comes back and stink-a-roo!
I hope he's not too tired to get back into my car! This morning I opened my trunk and told him to get in, he tried (oh, by trunk I mean the back of my 4Runner, not a real trunk--I just realized that might have sounded bad!) and he couldn't jump in on his own...My husband then usually grabs him and puts him in, so I figured I could do it too! Wrong. I could barely even lift him (I don't even think the bottom half left the ground 8O )
But he then took a running jump and made it in on his own...
Maybe he can show Pooh how to do that!
He was funny to watch while jumping. He basically just took a few steps back and went, Gallump Gallump and UP! I added a little push at the very end to make sure he continued going forward, rather than falling out!

I'm surprised he was able to do it since his hips have been very click-y lately, which has me worried :(
Wow...glad you caught him and all was well. Those are scary moments!! 8O

But, how nice to have a clean, fluffy, yummy smelling puppy to come home with tonight! :D :D

Genevieve can jump into the back of my Highlander with no problem. Beaureguard cannot. He puts his front paws up and waits for me to lift him. Now, Gen has started doing that too! :x I think she thinks that's what she's supposed to do. Silly sheepies!
I love clean smelling puppies...too bad it doesnt last longer...lol...
Just spray him with Hubby's Cologne. Bunker gets to smell like Victoria Secrets Endless Love or Lancome Miracle in between Baths.
So glad everything turned out alright.
That is one of my biggest fears, Mojo getting away from me. Thay are so strong and can be so fast when they want to be!!!!
Hope you can get some pics when he comes home all prettied up!
Perfect time for pictures, hint, hint...

That reminded me of when we went to Petsmart a couple of weeks ago. I am waiting for my lease to end...I have a Sebring Convertible so we are stuck with that until spring..anyway we get back to the car after picking up a few things and I pop the trunk to put the goodies in and Murpy jumps right in the trunk and sits there! 8O I'm trying to get him out and people are laughing at us in the parking lot! He did get out, eventually! I was worried people would think that's were he rides and call the SPCA!

Also, before anyone freaks out...I have never, and will never put the top down with the boys in the car! Though I have thought about taking pictures of this while the car is in the driveway!

I can hardly wait to get rid of this car!!!!!! It's ridiculous! :(

Colleen! I can't believe you would say that. I have a red Sebring convertible and I LOVE it! Then again, I have no kids, 1 dog and can drive it with the top down 9 months a year (the cool months, not the hot ones). When I lived in Chicago I didn't have a car. I had to buy one when I moved to AZ and had my heart set on a convertible. The Sebring was the only one (in my price range) that I could really put 4 people in. Bailey rides in the back seat, he's fine with it. And no, we don't take him out with the top down either, we were just talking about that last night. I bet he'd LOVE it because he loves the wind in his face but we'd have to get him a harness seatbelt before we took that chance.

I don't have kids either....it was the addition of Murphy that did me in!

I love driving it when I don't have the sheepies with me! But that's not very often!
I have a 73 Mustang convertible and Bunker loves it. She stand on the console with her head in the wind like she's barking "I'm queen of the world". I bought her a doggie seat belt and she hate wearing it but too bad. At least seh still gets the wind through her fur.

PICTURES PLEASE!

How great is that? :D
I had a Miata (had to sell it because it was 'impractical' with 3 dogs, grrr). But, Norman or Carl could ride in it while wearing their harness, no problems. It was really funny to have them laying down on the seat and then pop up at red lights. Talk about surprise!
That's it! I'm ordering a harness right now...
