Adjusting to Dog Run

This is part 2 of my original dog run inquiry. I now have a nice covered area for Max in the backyard. It is about 7' x 13' and I am now trying to get Max used to it. There is no way I'll leave the house yet when he is in it because he barks almost the whole time. I'm just having him go in for about 1/2 an hour at a time. My goal is only for him to have to be in it for no more than 3 hours on any given day. When I'm here he is always with me and goes with me in the car for errands that I can take him on. Any ideas on how to get him to be calm while he's in it? Thanks

Bribery!!

Seriously...toys, treats, go in with him and make it a fun game. Give him something really fun and cool that he only gets when he is in there. Kind of the same thing you'd do with getting them used to a crate.
Good idea!! I will have to look for something really different that he'll love!! He loves his compressed rawhide when I'm watching him, so maybe I can find some really good chew thing that is safe also.
Try a large Kong filled with peanut butter or that cheese from a can, he has to work to get to it.
