can somebody please help these people

a guest from northern indiana wrote last week trying to give away her sheepie because they were moving. we met with them (trying to find a playmate for max). their dog was gorgeous, well groomed, and great with our kids. i mean she was a great big babydoll. our only problem was she did not like max. they dont think she is full blooded (she looks like she is to me, but im no expert) has a tail and i think she said that she is seven years old. they really need an immediate response. i think they said tomorrow was their last day. their email address is mailto:awithrow@chicagorealtor.com and their phone number is 312.214.5501 (work) or 219.942.3877 (home) if you think you may be able to help. i hope someone can help. her name is amanda----thanx

Oops - Do you know if they've contacted any rescue groups to surrender her? :?:
i talked to them last saturday and they said no shelter would take her because of her age and she might not be full blooded. she emailed me yesterday wanting to know if i could still take her dog even though they did not get along, she said a friend told her that they might in the future, but thats a risk i did not want to take.
Pam I have tried to call this Lady and can't get her. I said with Fltcher the way he is now I was going to keep my hinny in Texas. But, I still can't stand to see a Baby in need. IF you talk to her tell her I am checking with some other breed rescues to see if they can heol her for me until I can get her. Sheepie Hugs, Kaye
Kaye,

I'm west of Chicago and would be able to take the dog on a temporary/foster basis... (te he he) at least that's what I just told the hubby.

Michelle
Michelle, That would be great. I am still working on getting the 7 year old deaf boy down here. I could get both of the Babies at the same time......Lets All Work On This......Sheepie Hugs, Kaye
Sorry -- offtopic -- but Rufie is so cute! Great avatar!
thanx everybody, i just called and left her a message and i will write her an email now. she wrote to me a couple of hours ago and said she has until monday morning now
Pam...

Thanks for following up with her again. My weekend is pretty free (well as free as it can be lately!), but Sunday looks the best. I'd like to try and hook up then if possible. Otherwise, I do whatever works out best.

Michelle
we talked to amanda today, she said she will be contacting you today. thanks everybody :D :D :D
Hi Pam/Michelle/oops-sorry,

Has anyone heard anything definite on this poor baby?

Nita
Hi Nita,

Nothing yet... I'm hoping to wake up with an email from her. Otherwise, I'll give her a call.

I haven't heard from Amanda and have left her a message at her home number. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. :?
Hello All...

Just a quick update, I left a message at Amanda's home last night and still have not heard her. I don't know what to think! I hope her sheepie isn't sitting alone somewhere

-Michelle
i agree, she says she is so worried about her dog, calls me and emails me trying to find someone to take her. i call her back and she sounds so happy and relieved, that someone will take her. and then nothing. :? :? :? . oh well, i still appreciate your help. thanx again
I was in Dallas yesterday for Dr appointments for my Husband and picked up two 2 more new Babies.....Besides half of the US wanting to adopt Oaf there was a message from Amanda. I tried to call her back last night and get the machine......She left me another # I will try this morning............ The situation with My Husband I am not going to be able to travel very far anymore. Sheepie Hugs, Kaye
Kaye,

I'm so glad she contacted you. Sorry to hear that you won't be traveling, but thoroughly understand. I am still interested in helping out. Do you know either of the women listed as Rescue Contacts in Illinois, Grace Fujikawa or Jeri Hoppe? I'm wondering if they could help place Oreo closer to home. Appreciate your thoughts. Also, on a previous thread, there was a guest who indicated an interest in Oreo:

I just spoke with Amanda and she said that due to their moving she couldn't get on the computer???? Any way one of her co workers took the Babies Saturday. So she is safe. So we can all stop worrying....Sheepie Hugs, Kaye
 Thanks Kaye!
Thank goodness. I was concerned--several people offered to help her but she never followed through. I was praying Oreo found a good home.
amanda wrote to me today and the letter goes as follows:
Thank you so much for all of your help. Because of our move, we were having some internet trouble (couldn’t get on at all) this weekend or else I would have sent this sooner. One of my co-workers ended up taking Oreo from us on Saturday. They do not have a dog and were looking to get one that was already trained and would be a good companion for her 2 kids – 12 and 13. So… we’ll see how it goes. Again, I TRULY appreciate how much you went out of your way for us to make sure Oreo had a good home. If we can ever help you with anything – please don’t hesitate to ask!
Maybe the new owners would find it helpful to be directed to this site? They might have some new sheepdog questions.
I think that is a terrific idea. I know Amanda said " I hope it works out"...... I think everyone needs to start promoting this forum. People have so many quetions and don't know who to ask. There is so much knowledge in this group. Plus it is a Friendly Bunch of Sheepie Folks too......Sheepie Hugs, Kaye
This is such fantastic news! :D I've been holding my breath, wondering how it was all going to play out for Oreo! I hope the new owners will join the forum! :D
