Hi Everyone! Very Happy

I have been browsing this awesome site for several months now, but have actually just joined today Laughing Anyway, my husband and I have been seeking a female sheepie for some time now. We are in love with the breed, and have both had them as children.

We would like either a sheepie puppy or a sheepie up to approx 2 years old. I wondered if anyone might have some contacts for breeders here in the Atlanta or Georgia area....(or even in neighboring states as well). I have been in touch with Ingrid with the OES Network in the SouthEast and she has been wonderful, but there aren't any females available right now.

If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it Wink

Thanks!
Amber
Keep in touch with the various breeder referrals. A new litter may be only months away - a short time when you consider the future years of sheepie fun.

Oh and welcome to the forum. Always glad to have new members in the family.
Daisy in Mississippi looks very sweet! Maybe someone could help arrange transportation?

Welcome to the forum! Laughing You can also contact Tarja Peters of OESCA for breeder referrals. I believe her name on the forum is OES Rules. (Can any other forum member remember more details on Tarja?)

As for rescues, you can either try Petfinder.com, or if you go to NEOESR.org (New England Old English Sheepdog Rescue), there's a link to National Rescues listed by state.

Good luck in your search! Keep us posted!

Thanks for the heads up about Daisy, she was actually recused by Ingrid's Crew Very Happy And they have just placed her with someone, so she is already taken Crying or Very sad

Thanks for all of the other ideas as well, I will definitely keep my eyes peeled.
That's great news re Daisy! Good luck in your search! Looking forward to when we all get the happy news. . .
Tarja Peters email is oescrazy2@yahoo.com.... (the breeder referal person for OESCA)
Daisy is the girl that I'm fostering right now. She's such a good dog (PERFECT, really)!!!
She has found a home with a lovely couple in Georgia. They're picking her up on Saturday.

I will sure miss her though. Crying or Very sad That's the only bad part of fostering.

Unless you're just set on having a female, I do know that we have several males coming in to the OESRNSE that will be available for adoption soon.
Welcome to the forum! Very Happy

I'm sure you will find your girl! This is the place to be! Very Happy

The Gooch and Murph don't know why you want a girl though! They say BOYS ROCK! Twisted Evil
And Panda says that boys that Rock, love girls......
Well actually, I was wondering the pros and cons with the boys vs. girls (sheepies that is Laughing ) I have just always had female dogs, but I am not opposed to a male, as I love them all. If I could I would have 12 sheepies and a big farm Very Happy
Here's a good discussion we had about that very subject! Very Happy

I look forward to hearing from you!

Absolutely. What would you like to know?

Tarja
Sorry, Tarja! I just couldn't remember your e-mail address, and since I was at work, I couldn't take the time to look it up.
