Daily Supplements

What type of vitamins or other things do you give your dog or suggest to give to OES?

Definitely some Omega 3 Fatty Acids. During a seminar on behavior at the Centennial there was a ton of talk, all positive too, about those. Helps coat and skin and apparently has positive effects on mood and behavior too. That comes from the speaker at the seminar, an animal behavior specialist with tons and tons of degrees. He's also German, super funny and looks great in a suit. Sorry, got a bit off topic... I'll get his name and see if there's any other info in the paperwork we got.
Excellent! Is that something you give the pup 1 one daily?
Is that in a pill...from the Health store?

I give Chumley glucosamine with chondroitin. It has a noticeable positive benefit for her mobility. . .
I bought Hendrix Brewer Pills and have been giving them to him daily for a couple weeks now. Are the Omega 3 Fatty Acid's the same thing? Should I wait till we're all out of the Brewer Pills then give him the Omega 3 Fatty Acids or can they both be used?

Is there anything you can give to pups to prevent hip dysplasia?
Hendrix is such a cutie-pie!

I'm not sure there is anything you can "give" a dog that will actually prevent hip dysplasia but I think you can postpone some of the effects by keeping them at a lean, healthy weight. A study says they also live longer. I think fast start/stop exercise and play is harder on the joints. I think they say for the first year you need to be careful about any high impact exercises like long jogs with their owners, jumping, etc. They recommend Glucosamine for healthy joints and it's in some dog foods now. Does anyone know if they recommend it as a daily supplement for currently healthy dogs and what brand is best? Our vet said not to give our healthy girls the Cosequin DS that we are currently giving Panda who actually does have HD. I guess I should have asked why...

Jeez Louise... still gotta take time to look into the V caps you mentioned Diane!
