Sox vs. Sox

Ok Ron. Let's see just how much you love your Sox, and how much confidence you have in them.

If "your" Sox win (highly unlikely!), I'll send you a package of Brats and Cheese from the Brat Stop.

If "my" Sox win ( :clappurple: ), what can I expect from Boston? Hmmmmmmmmmmm?

Deborah (who still calls it Comisky)
Respond to this topic here on forum.oes.org
The White Sox will kick Boston butt, said the girl born and raised on the south side.

Deborah, at least you don't call it "ComiNsky" Park.
Go White Sox!!!!! Chicago Rules!!!! :D
Yay White Sox! I lived in Chicago for 12 years and saw many games at Comiskey. Most of them from the tables outside the old Bullpen Bar :D
Go Red Sox!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Boston will win!!!!!!!!!!!

Note to Debcram-If your "sox" win, I owe you a Boston Cream Pie!!

If our "sox" win, you owe us a Chicago Deep dish
pizza. :D P.S. We love pizza!!!

LOL Mandy! You'll love this then. I root for two teams:
1. The White Sox
2. The team playing against the Yankees...
You betcha, Auntie Paula!!!!
You should always feel safe rooting for the team playing against the Cubs too!!!!

Mets + Cubs = :x
But at least now you know the meaning of "team player" accrding to Pedro.
Pedro? As in "Vote for Pedro"?
Thank you! That was going to be my next statement, anybody but the Yankees. :x

And if we go as long as the Cubs, I'm only goint to watch hockey! (I think I'll change to Let's Go Stars! at this point.)

At least Mike Piazza was commentating the Red Sox (hint hint) game yesterday.

Pedro Shmedro he'd better win 20 games next year or we're sending him to ride around on the subway all by his lonesome.
White Sox 2 :D The other Sox uhmmm, oh yeah 0 :(
I want to be very excited, but being a Chicagoan all of my life, I take these small victories with a spoon of salt, to keep from being heartbroken!

And the cynical side of me knows, the "other" sox will have to win next so they can keep the series going as long as possible and generate more revenues.

Gosh...I loved the old days, when if ya won, ya won.

(Dreaming of Boston Creme Pie after 3 more games
)
I am with Mandy... I don't care who wins as long as it is not the Yankees
I am a Mets Fan or a temporary fan of whomever is playing the Yankees..lol
I HATE THE YANKEES!!!!

I know, me too. But, how cool would it be to take it in three... :D
Last night, a dejected Tony Graffanino, whose error probably led to the RedSox' loss in game 2, apparently unsuccessfully attempted suicide after leaving the park.

He threw himself in front of a bus,
but fortunately for him and the RedSox,
it went through his legs...

Go Red Sox!!!
Wait a minute here. We have to set some things straight.
First of all we are all sheepie lovers.
And sheepies are black and white when they are puppies.
And of course all sheepies have white paws, thus they are all wearing their white soxs.

so go white sox
win it all!

hey, hey, the white sox all the way!
SheepAlot! I love your logic. There's no way to argue with that!

GO WHITE SOX DO IT FOR THE SHEEPIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Winston is ready for the game today.
I just couldn't resist it, I had to dress him up showing what a Big Sox fan he is.
Let's hope the White Sox win today!

I'm ready for the game, are you?

This could be trouble for us!
(especially if Winston is fond of Boston Creme Pie!)

 Go Red Sox!!!!!!
Winston! You're precious and a wonderful mascot and good luck charm
for the "RIGHT SOX"Pirate thinks you're a very cool dude! And Keira has a crush on you. She says she can't resist a man in uniform!!!

GO WHITE SOX ... BRING IT ON HOME!!!!
The Green monster has a delivery

Congratulations to The White Sox and all of their fans at home and on this board!

You came in and really went to work and dominated the World Champions.

El Duque was magnificent!

I have had a wonderful year filled with warm feelings and great memories of hearing the call: "Red Sox fans have longed to hear it -- The Boston Red Sox are World Champions".

I hope you guys have the same opportunity, to hear your team's name in a similar call.

-Ron
EEK!!! I'm confused! I don't get a boston creme pie delivered my house? I get a recipe???????????????????????????????????? I was planning on sending you a Lou Malnati's pizza if in the unlikely event the "other sox" won!

HUH?????? No real pie????????? Do ya think Mayor Daley gets lobster recipe, too???????? (I gotta give up betting!)

Winston and Winston's mom...we have to make plans to meet at a central Bakers Square and have Boston Creme and coffee. Auntie Paula, are ya in? Any other Chicagoans???

"Right" Sox...I'm soooooooooo proud!!! And I know my dad in heaven is doin' a happy dance (Ralph, enjoy! I love and miss you!)
Ron, as always, you are the quintessential gentleman! It will, once again, someday, come back to Boston. Life is a circle...and what goes around, comes around. That's what makes us humble.

Congrats on an excellent team. I admire them and applaude them.

Thanks Ron. It's been a long, long time and it would be a dream come true to hear it. But there's lots of baseball left before we get there.

Hey Deb
That sounds great. I'll meet at a Central Bakers Square for that Boston Creme Pie. Just name the location and time so we can celebrate. Auntie Paula too.

The game was incredible. It was intense. Both teams played excellent and kept me excited through the whole game.
Hats off to Boston!

Mary
Believe it or not, Paula doesn't have a computer! So she won't see this until Monday at work. I think I'll give her a call this weekend.

I have been to Boston many, many times. And each trip is better than the last. The people and city are warm and loving and welcoming.

Last time I was there I stayed at the Omni Parker House where the bartender (oh sure, I believe everything bartenders tell me) told me Boston creme pie was invented there, along with Parker House biscuits. He even bought me a piece and it was NUMMY!!!!!

Two of my favorites in Boston, Legal's Seafood and wading in Duck Pond, in a formal gown after a wedding. Yes, I was tipsy....but way happy!

Congrats to Boston for being a magnificent place, with wonderful people and a super-duper team!

Now if I could only get them to bring back the cracker jack type logo for their football team, instead of the that modern whatever it is!!!!

Parker House dinner rolls for certain, but I'm not so sure about the Creme Pie story!

I used to work right on the little side street on which the Parker House sits, School street, about halfway down.

The Patriot's new logo is called "Elvis", the old logo's name was "Pat".
I'm sure they'll change their uniforms and or their logo in the next couple of years to spark another buying frenzy at the stores.
Hmmm...I'm thinking Salerno's Pizza...haven't had one in years!

Ron,
Deborah is correct, Boston Creme Pie was invented at
the Parker House! Bet it was heaven, Deb!

For the history see the joy of baking link in my previous post.

Just love Boston history!! :D

Wow, I don't even know if Salerno's Pizza is still around!!! Talk about a flash from the past!!!!!
See the bartender was right! I always knew I could trust a man who pours a smooth Chivas, and serves pastries

He really was interesting. If any of you are history buffs, try and find the history of the Parker House. He told me how a group of writers (very famous writers, although not famous at the time) would meet there every Saturday night under the pretext of discussing literature, but would really just end up getting quite drunk!!!!

He really was a wealth of knowledge. Oh my, I hope I tipped him well!!!!!

Deborah (who tries and make it habit of over tipping....she knows, they work hard for their $$$)
Deb, you know about Salerno's? It is off East Avenue in Berwyn.
I used to go to Berwyn for beef sandwiches and the most amazing Mexican bakeries. Pastries to die for. But I lived downtown so I didn;t have to go very far for great pizza... the original Uno and Due!
