Marie,

Thank you for posting the information about the NEOESR, Inc Auction!! Every cent made from the auction goes to a very worthy cause for those of us who love our OES!!

I was extremely dismayed and pained by the original reply to your post that a "Guest" had posted stating some figures in regard to NEOESR's finances and suggesting that people should not support NEOESR. It appears that post has since disappeared, but I feel the need to respond anyway because I know that other people besides myself read it and might be a little befuddled.

It has been a while since I have had the extra time to post. Please let me introduce myself to those of you who do not know who I am. I am Nancy Hakala of Minnesota Old English Sheepdog Rescue. MOESR is a very new, grassroots (sometimes struggling) rescue serving OES in the Midwest.

Apparently our "Guest" seems to know a lot about NEOESR, Inc. However, perhaps not enough. To say that by contributing to the NEOESR, Inc auction is taking away from other rescues in the country is absurd. Quote from our "Guest": " ...leave some money for the rest of the country's struggling OES Rescue organizations."

What "Guest" failed to state is that NEOESR, Inc in fact DOES help to support many other OES rescues all across the country. I will speak personally of the contributions from NEOESR, Inc. TO the Minnesota Old English Sheepdog Rescue. (I would hope that other OES rescues in Colorado, Kentucky, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas, etc., etc., etc.,) will speak for themselves in this regard and on behalf of NEOESR, Inc.

Because our friends at NEOESR, Inc. are not one's to "toot their own horn" -- please allow me to share just a slice of the great work they do for rescue groups across the country.

Since February of 2005, NEOESR, Inc has contributed $916.47 to MN OES rescue dogs for MEDICAL CARE. This is not to mention the hours upon hours of emotional support, moral support and mentoring provided to myself from Granny Annie (of NEOESR) while Minnesota's very new rescue (MOESR), in it's infant stages, gets off the ground.

To put it bluntly -- without the financial support and mentoring from NEOESR, Inc. -- there would BE NO Minnesota Old English Sheepdog Rescue -- and there would be a number of OES who would have remained in pounds, shelters or worse -- dead. There are at least THREE OES that would have been euthanized if not rescued by MN OES Rescue. And again -- MOESR would not be in existence today to help those OES into FOREVER HOMES without the FINANCIAL SUPPORT of New England Old English Sheepdog Rescue, Inc.

To say that by donating to the New England OES Rescue, Inc is taking away money from other rescue groups is a complete fallacy. I am infuriated and pained to hear this after all that NEOESR, Inc has done for the OES of Minnesota & Wisconsin. And! Perhaps "Guest" should put one's money where one's mouth is, and reveal ones self rather than hiding, like a coward, under the anonymous "Guest".

I would encourage ANYONE with a love for OES to check out the New England OES Rescue auction. The money truly DOES go to OES in need all across the country.

There are three OES who entered MOESR from the states of MN and WISC who are alive today and in loving homes -- ONLY because of the support of New England Old English Sheepdog Rescue, Inc. Because New England OES Rescue, Inc. CARED and had the organization and resources to be ABLE to HELP.

Thank you again for posting a link to the auction site, Marie! The auction is fun and worth every penny spent!
