We went to Ruidoso, NM for the weekend. I heard some snow had fallen and that the ski area was snowy and ready, so up we go to the mountains. Lennon behaved very well on the car trip, looking trough the windows the whole time. Wen we got to the mountains he got all exited and hyper, then we got to the sky slopes, but when we wanted to go down to the slopes on a metal staircase, he totally refused to go down! We finally convinced him to go down and when we got to the ski area, we were told that no dogs were allowed in the slopes so we headed to the scenic trails for a walk, and that's where the fun started. Lennon jumped all over the place, digged, rolled and ate the snow, and since everyone was on the slopes, we had a huge snow field to ourselves. When we found an area of podwered snow where the snow was up to our calves, my wife and I started jumping around since we had not seen so many snow since childhood, we let Lennon run loose for a while and he enjoyed the knee deep snow even more, he was hopping like a bunny, chasing snowball that we trew at him, first going uphill and then downhill until he ran out of breath. I didn't know OES' were so agile in the snow!!
We had to come back because it was getting darker and we found some bear tracks on the snow scary!! There are some posts that ask you not to feed (Or pet!) the bears around the park, so we decided it was wiser to go home. Lennon jumped on the car and he was so tired, that he slept all the way home (I wonder if I could get a snowfield like that closer to my home ).
It was a super fun family trip, Lennon was very happy and my wife had a lot of fun too. Wanna see the pictures? They are at:
