Explain again how u know you're finished with the knotzilla

........stage? I've often called the devil here by Mr. Joah because I'm always combing Yuki, and it's "Poor Yuki..." This of course causes my husband to hear a whining wife because I'm the one who just sat there for an hour with my back bent over the dog. Poor yuki, screw yuki... I need a massage!!! JUSTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT Kidding. I know she must love when my legs release her to freedom!

Most of the time, my back is up against the couch with a pillow behind it too, but sometimes...you just gotta catch her wherever she may lay!!

These matts, I admit, would probably never get bad (usually on chest, right where her belly/side line is, and the ears) if I combed every day. I mean to, but with moving and our schedules, it's turned to a ritual every 4 day thing.

The matts... well, they take some patience, but I've had no problem handling them (this is mostly the sore back complaining), but Mr. Joah keeps asking me when this stage will be over with. I never know what to say. I thought it would be over a month ago since her hair is very much turning gray and her hair has become... hmm, can't explain... a softer texture?

It's been about 3 months with thorough line brushing (and baths w/conditioner). What am I looking for? Just a completely different coat? (1/4 of each hair is gray...the end/rest of it is still black)

I am sure I'm taking out a lot of her undercoat, but that's fine.. I haven't come to terms with "clipping her." (dunnn..dun dun) /music
For now, we refuse, but I know never to say never.

Thanks to the mommy's ...and daddy's who have passed this. She's 10 months. This started probably at 7. (honestly, I forgot)

Never

(It never seems to end! After the puppy coat,
weather was the next challenge. The humidity, the driving rains,
the muddy season, the winter blizzards. Of course, we are
in New England so this weather occured all in the same day lol)

It seems to take consistancy, the right tools, and
stamina depending on coat length.

We are giving in and getting the grooming table to add to
our anti matt plan....

Good luck, Yuki is growing up beautifully!! :D
It has never seem to stop...the coat changes, but the amount of knots and grooming havent.....I have panda lay on her side, on the floor, I sit on a step above her...it tends to keep her "locked" into position...my back always hurts.....sigh....
With my first oes I honestly did find that the grooming was much easier and we had far fewer mats occuring once she was about 2 years old. By the time she was 5 or 6 we hardly ever had to brush her, well compared to maintaining show coat anyway...lol...
I cannot complain about Pepsi he hardly ever has matts and I brush his about twice a week. Sometimes more if I can corner him.

I wish I had a camera. I was afraid we wouldn't have a lot of room in my luggage, so I didn't bring it to the in-law's house (they have a second home in tx i'm staying in while mr. j finishes airborne school).

Anyways, I've given her a trim. Well.. still working on it. My back needed a break. Yuki twitched and low-barked the entire time (she was off in dreamland).

I think it looks good.

I'd say she is still about 6-7 inches all around. Nothing cut off her face (mr. j would kill me).

I also just realized that the in-laws vacuum cleaner doesn't work. They took their Dyson with them to VA. I hope they like a Sheepie carpet. :D
Tape wil do in a pinch to pick up the dog hair :)
Or rub a damp towel over it until it's all in a clump and pick it up and wash the towel.
I think I'll let Yuki pick up the little black patches that got on the carpet. She loves eating patches of hair after I've groomed her. She won't mind.

JUST KIDDING.

I used tape and scraped all the hair I could with my fingers. It'll have to do until I can borrow someone's vacuum in their neighborhood.
