Taking Sheepie for a Test Drive

Has anyone taken their OES with them to buy a new car? My husband is getting a new car this week and I'm thinking if I bring the sheepie along to help, maybe we won't have to spend hours and hours sitting in their holding tank!! Just a thought

That's a very funny idea. Let us know if it works!
When my husband got his new truck in August we were sitting in the back room, waiting for "15 minutes" that turned into an hour, and I said the same thing - if we had brought Bailey we would be out of here right now! He'd LOVE the dealership, lots of room to run around and play fetch, well dressed salesmen to lick and wipe his drippy face on, nice cool floors. I think it's a GREAT idea!

However, since I didn't have that bright idea before we left I kept wandering aimlessly around the showroom. Whenever anyone tried to steer me toward the waiting room (again) I would say, It's just so dull back there and I thought you had forgotten us. And even with that we waited an hour! But I refuse to be convenient for them when they are inconveniencing me.
Sure did! When I was ready to trade in my old Jeep Cherokee (1987) for a new car, I took both the dogs with us. I had my eye on a Saturn Vue and so when we went in, they were very accepting of us with our four legged kids. Now I am in California and you know we are a little different out here. But they went for the test drive and all and the dealership didn't bat an eyelash.

Good luck on your shopping for a new car.
Take him!!!

Wish I had the Bogart when I bought my car.
Its a sporty Stratus, the back seat is small for a person
let alone a growing sheepie.

He really looks cute in the back, if he grows any more I'll
have to pop the sun roof open.

Good luck !!!!
I'm the comptroller of a Dodge dealership. We welcome dogs to test drive. We also welcome them in our waiting rooms. I always make sure the cashiers have "cookies" for our 4 legged friends. And when we redecorated, I ordered furniture covered in "medical strength" vinyl, since some of the doggies like to sit on chairs.

My boss hates it. But he sure loves that it makes our customers happy...and in turn, makes him $$$.

So...take your sheepie! If the dealership snarls, you don't want to do business with them anyway!
Deborah,
How often would you say dogs come to a dealership (I'm totally curious)...I don't think it ever would have occured to me to bring the dog...
That's so nice that you have doggie treats!
Well, it looks as if our test drive will be delayed since they don't have the car we want until end of October. But I think it will be fun, I can't imagine they'd turn us away!! That's smart of you to cater to the furry friends, Deborah!! Your boss should give you a bonus for the business!!
Sharon
Well...I don't know about my boss giving me a bonus...I think the bonus is that he lets me keep my job (I'm a brilliant accountant, but very stubborn in my loves and beliefs!).

In service, I bet we get, on average, 2-5 puppers a week. Most are delightful, some...well...most are delightful!

For test drives, much rarer. I'd say 1 every 4 or so months. I suspect as word gets out, we'll have more.

I, personally, love it. I'm always careful to ask the uprights if "they" would mind if I pet their dogs. And on those days, Pirate and Keira give me the evil eye when I get home (Keira, she's been cheating on us again!)

Now, if anyone wants to bring in snakes or other reptiles, I may not be so gracious!!!!
The last thing I did before I bought my last car (a Suzuki Grande Vitara) was to bring Tasker to the Dealer to make sure he could ride with comfort in the back :D
Next time we buy a car, we're bringing Lennon and Sofa to see if they fit inside.

Dealers don't want dogs in their cars? I guess they won't want our money in their pockets either....
