Bottle Top

Lucy our St. Bernard has ate a steel bottle cap at least we think. It sounded like that's what she had in her mouth but the time I opened her mouth it was to late. She had swollowed whatever it was. I'm hoping it was only a stick or something. I don't want that cap to tear her up or block her up.

This, unfortunately, happened to Sam a few months ago. I didn't know she found one. She threw it up. I have no idea how long it was in her system. I did notice that she wasn't eating like normal...which would make sense. Hopefully, yours will throw it up also..
Yikes!!! I think I'd call the vet. At this point it's too late to vomit. I would think there would be a risk of perforating the intestine. You might want to have an xray to see if it's there and where it is. In the mean time I, I'd check his poop to see if it passes.
