Weigh In

I just took Beau to the vet this past week and he now weighs 71 lbs. He will be 10 months old on the 22nd of this month. My question is: is he right in line to where he should be weight wise?

I don't think there is a single answer to that question. Since sheepies can be so varied in size, I think it depends on each dog. Does he seem chubby to you? Or too slim? I think that is a better way to determine size. That said, 71 pounds sounds pretty good for that age...I think that's about what Barney was around the same time.
That's what Drez weighs NOW!!!

einstein is 10 months too but he only weighs in at 50 lbs

just a little boy :)

Panda is almost 2 and she weighs in at 56 lbs...tiny little girl :D
Wow! Zeke was 68 pounds at his 6 month vet appt. He is just a hair
taller than Tucker right now, but not quite as long in the body. I hope
this means he will be on the big side! I think they mostly just fill
out after 10 or 11 months, rather than actually gaining height or length.
I actually thought Zeke was about done with the height and weight
last month, but we just noticed the other day that his head is actually
just a bit higher than Tuck's. Don't know his current weight.

Sounds like you are right on track at 71- right about in "the range!"

Considering I've heard of oes in the vastly wide range of 45- 120 lbs, it's anyone's guess as to what is really normal. LOL 71 lbs at ten months is a big boy I think, but then I've got little girls. LOL
Sky's brother Frazzle was 70 lbs at only 8 months old, but he's 15 months and I think he weighs about 80 so not a whole lot of change. I think by 18 months he may weigh 85 lbs.
It seems that weights can vary quite a lot!! Max is now 8 1/2 months old and weighs about 67 lbs., although when I lift him I could swear he weighs 80  I was so lucky today to finally meet 2 of Max's sisters, the girls were smaller than Max, I believe they weighed around 50 lbs. Max was a bit taller also. I love how cute they are at this age, but I'm also anxious to see how he'll look at 2 years or so!!
I have a bitch at 65 and a dog pushing 100. I much prefer the smaller size.
Mine were about 72lbs at a year old, the vet said if you can feel the dogs ribs they are not overweight.

Murphy is about 3 years old (we're not sure  ) and he ways 65lbs and The Gooch needs to be weighed but I'm sure he's over 80lbs and he's 11months old! 8O

I'd actually never seen a sheepie as small as Murph before! He gets embarassed because everyone thinks he's a girl when we are out and about!
Bailey is 8 months old and weighs 70 pounds as of today. The vet says that he's at the perfect weight for his frame. My husband says he was MUCH admired and got MANY cookies at the vet's office this morning for showing off all of his "skills". See, good vets know that sheepies are THE BEST!
At 19 mos Pepsi weighs 60.5 lbs
My little tubby turned a year last Sunday and he's pushing 90.

I think I can feel his ribs. Yup, there's one. Whew!
Lucy Lu will be 6 mos. on Oct. 2 and weighs in at 54 lbs.
