As for the cone, Beau completely destroyed his so there was no option to return it. But, I can't imagine that we would've used it again.

If it were me, I'd keep the stitch hole cleaned and put an antibiotic ointment on it until it heals. But, then, I'm complusive that way. :?

I don't know about the Frontline. Sorry. Perhaps someone else here knows or you could ask the vet.

Hope your boy is feeling better! :)
Chumley needed a cone due to a hotspot. I'm going to keep mine because I imagine that could happen again. . .
I'd call your vet's office and ask these same questions first but I'd agree with Beauregard's Mom, just clean it up and put some ointment on it. No matter what, it won't hurt to do that. Does Frontline distribute down the skin or absorb as it does so? I can see your concern there. If you do call the vet, post what he says about putting the Frontline on. I think that's a good question that a lot of us may deal with at some point!
i asked about the frontline and its ok to use according to my vet

just thought i'd let you know
Yeah, Frontline goes on the top and enters the fat layer just under the skin.

Holes heal. Jut keep it clean and try to keep his tongue off of it. Chances are the less you mess with it, the less he will notice.

As for the cone, originally our vets wanted them back. Well, after receiving some badly battered one, I guess they saw no reason to request them back. Now I keep brand new, unused ones (from PetsMart) on had when I need to keep them off a booboo. Just a day or two works wonders in the healing process.
