Our first Sheepie sighting!

Chumley and I met our first sheepdog Friday morning. I had taken the day off from work and so we were doing our morning walk a bit later than usual. Because I had more free time, we went to the park that is slightly farther from my house. There she was! She had the exact same coloring as Chum! I couldn't believe it and neither could Ebi's (like phoebe without the fuf) person. White head leading to point between shoulder blades, grey half way down front legs, white belly -- really the same. The only difference was that ebi has pink rimmed eyes and chumley's are black. Ebi's person said that in her 11 years of having Ebi, they'd actually *never* seen another sheepdog. It was so funny. They stood opposite each other and started barking loudly and wiggling. Neither of our dogs really barks except in unusual situations or extreme excitement. It was adorable! Can't wait to see more at the Centennial.

Awww.... that's great, I bet it was exciting for all of you, two legged and four legged :)
Nothing beats your sheepie having a sheepie best friend!!! Congratulations!
That is great!! We go CRAZY when we see other sheepies. In our town we have seen 3 other ones. We just have to stop and talk and take notes. We go crazy if we see one on t.v. or the movies.
Sheepie sightings are indeed rare - how cool is it that it's so close to your house!!! You'll have to bring a camera next time! Since they looked so much alike, did you happen to ask what Ebi's lineage was?
Chris
How cool is that! We have never had a chance sheepie sighting! :( But our eyes are always open! 8O I love that they loved each other! :D

Please take some pictures of Chumley and her twin!
I hope I see her again! I think she is on a later schedule than us. It was really cool. I didn't ask about her lineage. We were both so surprised. Her size, color and markings were the same as Chumley's. Under her hair, though, Ebi's face was very different. Kind of like she was a body double! Sweet Ebi has mouth cancer. The first tumor was removed and a new one showed up. She still looked like she was having fun. It was so adorably cute to see them together. Funnier still is that I immediately thought -- I've GOT to tell the group!! :D
That is so cool! Now Chumley can have a sheepie friend! :D
I love how there just seems to be instant recognition and pleasure at meeting another of their kind. Bums Wiggling! :D

I have always wanted to meet another sheepie in our area, too.

Then, on Saturday, Beau, Gen & I got to meet Pam (Shuffles) and sweet little Miss Mallory. She's the cutest and best behaved little puppy! :D

We went to a sheepie picnic here in N.C. and met a man with TWO sheepies who lives just a few miles away from us!! :D Happy Day! :D

Play dates are in the works!! :D
That's wonderful! I think a camera should be mandatory at all playdates. :D
That is just WAY too cool, Tammy! Can't wait to see pictures!
Chris
We never see other sheepies-- well, except Cousin Bentley, but he's not a surprise. He knows we're coming. There's a lady I've run into at the pet supply store twice that claims to have three OES. The first time I saw her she said it was really rare not to have her dogs with her because she always brings them to the pet store. Then I saw her again-- without them. It makes me wonder if they exist at all and if she just has an obsession with sheepies and she thinks she has them. I hope she isn't stalking Clyde.
Jill--I'd hold Clyde's leash tighter next time you see that 'sheepie' lady. I think she's faking it!

We have a sheepdog that lives in the next cul de sac over. She growls at Barney, but that's because he jumps over her and bounces against her (she's a mature 8 and he's, well, he just Barney)...I was walking Barney yesterday and I saw her sitting in her doorway and she saw Barney and I saw her jump up and start barking (this is basically an entire block away)! No love interest there, I guess!

That's hilarious! How odd! Being the curious busybody that I am, I would ask discreetly at the pet store to see if anyone there has seen her come with dogs. An "oh what a shame we never see them, they sound really cute. . . " sort of thing.
Awww, she's just too old for Barney....He needs someone hip and with it!!!

Jill, cant you just put real brown clips in Clydes hair and take another picture????? Those "dyed" clips are driving me crazy....they look like a cartoon on a real dog......lol......

Now I have to leave them in...
Alright!!! It's torment Darcy day!!

I'll be right over to wrinkle your bedspread and dye Panda's hair purple!!!

WooHoo!!! :P
