Do your Sheepies lay down to eat?

Every OES our family has had (3 total) has lain down and happily munched their food, dish between their legs so the bowl is up close and they have to exert as little movement as possible to eat. Mallory being no exception.
If you move her food bowl away from her she will look up at you like you have just broken her little heart and if you set it just out of her reach in front of her, she will belly crawl to it, get it back between her front legs and start eating again.
She's such a fun pup!

Mine lay down to eat too....
Mine do their treats that way, but I use the elevated bowls for their food and water, so they have to stand up. :)
Clyde eats like a prisoner if we leave his bowl on the floor. He wraps his paws around it while he smashes his face into his food. Piggy.
Since Barney likes to 'protect' his food from the cats (at least that's what we think he's doing...) he needs to stand up so he can be on the go in an instant if necessary...
We bought the elevated bowls, too, and they work great! Drez used to eat lying down until Mom got smart enough to realize that's because she had to bend too far down to eat.

my parent's oes stands up while eating and eats his food as quickly as possible. He eats like he is never going to eat again.
mine too. then he'd tip his dish over.
Ahhh that just brought back memories of my childhood OES, Raggs! He always laid down to eat, stick his tongue out and stick some kibble on it like a lizard! He was the reason I am so nuts about Sheepies!

The Gooch stands and eats it all at once then comes to find me to pick up his empty, dirty dish and put it away! 8O If I'm busy doing something he just stands and stares at me until I do it! 8O What's up with that?

Colleen and The Gooch=>I don't know why either! Just like to make mommy wonder about things!
I've had em' sit, stand and lay to eat, but the the one that drove me nuts was my Cody. He'd go to his bowl, get a mouthful, bring it to the living room where I was, drop it on the floor and then begin to eat. Then he'd go back to the bowl for a refill and return. I'd go to the kitchen and find food strung out all over the floor that he'd dropped each trip. :x

I finally got the message. He didn't want to eat while I was in the kitchen with him, he wanted to eat in the living room with me. To cut down on the mess he made, I started taking the "kings" bowl to the living room with me. He would then stand or lay, depending on his mood, and happily eat from the bowl! Yes, our 7 OES owned the house, we just paid the mortgage and took out the trash.

The Gooch used to do this as well! It would sound like a pop gun was going off when I vaccuumed! 8O He's all better now, since I started mixing yogurt in with his kibble for his ears. Just happily munches away until its gone! :D But I have to say this thread is making me paranoid and wonder if I should try and free feed again? With Murphy here now too, I'm wondering if it is even possible? :?
