blind dog...

Hi everybody - i have a question:)

- London has a blue and brown eye and whenever i take her out - people go "oh beautiful dog.... " but when they actually see his eyes.. they'd go *gasp* "is he blind? " and then they get all sympathetic...

I think im getting tired of explaining that it's very common for sheepdogs to get bi color eyes. When I first got london - it never occured me that he could be mistaken for a blind dog.
has this happen to you guys? I get this often! grr.

I can't relate to that exactly but, usually when we go out, Clyde's hair is usually down in his face. Sometimes I want to scream after the 3rd or 4th, "Can he see with his hair in his eyes?" The funny thing is, it's Clyde that doesn't like it back for long, I try to pull it back. He likes using his hair to hide under! The one time I cut it, he kept shaking his head and pawing at where his bangs used to be, like he wanted it back.
Love the new avatar of Clyde!

Lol. Thanks! He can see after all!
Sky has one blue one brown too, and though I've never had anyone think she is blind, I do often get asked if they can see with all the hair in their eyes. Sky doesn't like anything holding her hair back either.
I only clip it when we go to the dog park so the other dogs can see his eyes. We've found that some dogs really don't like it when they can't make eye contact.
Hee Hee, looks like Clyde has pink eyebrows!
Hey, those barrettes are RED! A pale red perhaps but not pink. Clyde is no fancy boy! ;)

It's funny because when I do clip him up, people say stuff like "She's so cute," or "Aw, look she's wearing barrettes." It makes James so mad that Clyde's mistaken for a girl just because of the barrettes! It has become quite a matter of contention in our household!
Tyler has Grey hair around one eye and white hair around the other. After he has a bath, the white eye, the skin looks brighter pink in color and everyone always asks if he has an eye infection or if there is something wrong with his eye. I just say, nothing wrong, just pink skin. I'm think that sheepies have the most expressive eyes of all dogs and I think that people who don't have sheepies or much experience with them are taken back by it and yet dont quite know what it is, so they assume that there is something wrong.... just my 2 cents!
Panda has 2 blue eyes and I had her at the dog park a while ago and some one asked how it was having a blind dog......i looked at the lady like she was crazy.....then panda came crashing into me....lol
yeah - i guess it's a rochester thing. *grin*

i cant wait for the day to decorate london's hair with pretty bows and barrettes - his hair is still too short. :(
