Pituka has passed away

Hi everyone.

Our rescued dog, Pituka passed away this week. She was living with my neighbor's mother, as she fell in love with her and found her furever home with her and her husband.

She was very spoiled there, they bougth a lot of toys and treats for her and they even allowed here to sleep in their bed, witch was quite an acomplishment for her, because in the beggining her husband was not fond of dogs, but she grew on him and they were a very happy family.

They told me that since she was old, she started to develop a neurological problem that paralyzed her left side. She was taken to the vet's office and stayed there for a couple of days to see if they could help her, but unfortunately, she fell asleep one night and did not wake up the next morning.

I feel sad because she's gone and was the first dog we rescued from the pound :( , but then I'm really glad that the family she was placed with gave her a lot of love and attention, and was caring enough to seek for attention to her problem and everything else. They said that when they're ready, They'll look for Danita and me to help them rescue another dog... I think that's really nice!

Now that you're gone, we'll miss you Pituka!!! Look after us from the rainbow bridge!

Be uplifted by the thoughts of the wonderful things she has led you to do, led your neighbors to do, and what a wonderful time she had since you saved her life!

Saul, I'm so sorry for your loss. At least Pituka finished her life in the home of people who loved her. You did the right thing.

So sorry for your loss.
You helped her realize every dogs dream, to be wanted and loved.
What a gift you gave her and what wonderful memories she left you and her adopted family.
She is in a good place now, cherish her memory and smile, for surely she is smiling down on her earth angel, YOU.
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, Saul. Pituka really seemed to have a great life, and must have been pretty special to win over the husbands heart! What a legacy she leaves, with her being your first rescued dog! And what a great job you did, placing her in exactly the right home for all!

I think it speaks for itself that your neighbors want you to find them another love! :)

My thought's are with you and Dani.

Danita, Saul, I'm so sorry about Pituka. It's never easy to lose a pet. :(
So sorry for your loss. Very sad to hear about this.
Saul, loosening a pet is one of the most difficult times in our lives. You and Danita are just so amazing, the way you care for ALL animals, finding homes for the beautiful dogs you rescue from the pound, dogs that otherwise would be put too sleep or live in the pound the rest of their lives and never know love..Im so sorry for the loss of this beautiful little baby, but know because of you guys he knew the altimate love.My thoughts are w/ you.
She looks like a real cutie. Thank you for giving her a new life and love. Their time is so short here, you did a great job in making her time filled with love. The passing is always sad, but stand proud, you deserve it.
Saul and Danita,

So sorry to hear of your loss.
Pituka gave lots of happiness to her family, what a special pup!

You and Danita will guide another special rescue dog to
the family when they are ready...

Bless all the work you do on behalf of so many rescue dogs..........
Thanks everyone for your kind words. I miss her, but we take confort in knowing that we gave Pituka a second chance to live a nice happy life where she was very well taken care of, and she gave the gift of returning love to her furever home.

Now that's she's on the rainbow bridge she won't have me to bite as I give her medication  (She hated me for that) and she's having lots of fun. We miss her, but it's OK, because our dogs are never our own, they're just borrowed to us for a while to love and learn from them.

She was the first, but she will not be the last of the dogs we help getting a better life in their furever homes. Take care Pituka!
