Katrina hit us in NYS

Well it has been raining for over 14 hours now. Last night the winds were at 35 mph. But I am not complaing at all. This is nothing capared with the gulf states. As I watch the TV I can't beleave what I am seeing. It is heart breaking to see.

I can't do anything but pray for them.

Best wishes to all,

Deana

Here too... lots of rain, a little bit of wind... only real problem is that my dogs don't want to go out to pee. We are extremely lucky to live where we live....
Yes I know how lucky we are. My 3 dogs will go out. Now I have 3 very wet ones. hahaha. Does not smell to good either. O well!

Been raining for that long here too...I waited for a break in the rain, took the dogs out told them go pee and then we came in. It started pouring again as soon as we came in. Kids just ran the dogs in the house for exercise. I will have 2 sleeping puppies in a few minutes...then I can put them in their crates and get some work done. I'm trying to clean out my closet
Last night we were talking about how lucky we are to live where we do. It is heartbreaking to watch the news with those poor people that have lost everything.
I feel guilty about have a home to clean. The thought of no running water, food ect. Did you see on TV this morning GMA. They said lots of family pets dead in th water. I look a my 3 sleeping safe pets. Can't watch any more TV.
Nothing I can do.
Even far away there is still a way to help. Check out Noahswish.org and check out this post from second Chance Rescue:

Even if you can't get down there there's always a way to lend a hand.
POURED rain here, wind and lightening. We've had torenado warnings all day. Tasker refused to go out last night (wasn't there a post not too long ago about how long can your dog go?). He did go out this morning but barely hung his butt off the porch long enouch to pee. Ty gave me a look last night like YOU HAVE GOT TO BE JOKING!!!!! So I hauled out the puppy pads and he's been happily using them ever since (one advantage to being 4lbs!!!)

Looking out the window at the downed power lines, knocked over trees and mess (and this isn't even a "tropical storm) I cannot even imagine what the folks down south have been through.
