Using the right dose is critical.
Using the Nicorette Gum, Heavily dependent smokers need the 4mg strength, it increases their success rate by 21% over the 2mg strength, whereas if a non-heavily deopendent person uses the 4mg strength, their success is DECREASED by 18% over using the proper 2mg dose.

| Zyban is an antidepressant, and I've heard it works wonders for some as a quit smoking aid. My stepmother quit using zyban, and hasn't smoked now in several years.
I tried zyban but it had no effect for me. | This is about the fourth or fifth time I've used Zyban.
Here's the side effects I've had when using it:
dry mouth and racing pulse when I first woke up.
I think this stuff is great if combined with the patch.
Zyban is supposed to be taken a few days before you quit smoking and while you continue to smoke. It makes cigarettes taste horrible. For that reason people usually smoke less as the days go by. For me I never got past that part where I could give up cigarettes totally however.
I've read that combined with the patch which is safe to do at the same time, it increases your chances of success.
I think everyone is different and what works for some ..doesn't for others. This time I've decided to use both Zyban and the patch.
I'm currently using the strongest dosage of the patch which is like putting on a bandaid every morning. It slowly releases nicotine in my body. While I'm still using nicotine, my brain psychologically is getting used to not doing my daily habit. Sometimes the habit is just as hard to give up as the nicotine addiction. The patch does not contain all the other harmful substances that cigarette smoking has...although it is still nicotine. Eventually I will use the one with lower dosage ..as the weeks go by I will become used to not lighting up and all that habits that goes along with smoking...then can stop using the patch all together.
