Rules for the Quit Smoking Support Section
Before I created this section, I was a little concerned about doing it. I know that a lot of our fellow members smoke and I really don't want them to feel unwelcome. Whether or not you smoke does not affect my respect for you as a person, nor does it affect my respect for your opinions. Smokers are not bad people. People's decisions to smoke or not to smoke or to quit are theirs and theirs alone to make, just as they were for me to make when I was a smoker, and a quitter and a non-smoker. Therefore, negative comments about people's decisions in their actions won't be allowed in here. As usual, please write your posts as if you are talking with a neighbor that you don't know very well, sitting at her kitchen table and sharing a cup of tea (and maybe a piece of Nicorette Gum) 
At the forum, we've been building a community of people who share a common interest. I believe that communities can and need to embrace more than just that single interest. I think we're a great bunch of people, and I cherish the friendships germinated by the forum - friendships I have made, and the friendships between other members. Everyone should feel welcome. |

Yes, I agree! I am the best non-smoker...er, at least I used to be....you could smoke around me etc and it wouldnt bother me, I think I will be the same way again.....Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Each side of this subject is sensitive...and as Jerry Srpinger would say..." Respect each other and more importantly, respect yourself..."  ...

| LOL! I don't know if it's a good idea to invoke Jerry Springer when we're trying to encourage civil conversations! His show scares me. |
