Has anyone seen this?

Truman is 9 1/2 months old. On several occasions he has had episodes where his hips and back legs shake and quiver. At first my husband thought it was a sexual behavior but it seems to be involuntary. This happens when he gets up in the morning and goes over to his water bowl and is drinking. This lasts only a few seconds and the one time I saw it, it was so brief I really didn't get a good look. Anyone have any ideas?

Cody is 3 months old and his front paws do that sometimes when he is sitting. I asked the vet and she said it was totally normal for puppies - she didn't however explain why it happens.
Pisco never does that but a friend of mine that has an OES says her`s sometimes does it...she asked he vet and he said it was normal on puppies but since her OES isn`t a puupy it was checked just in case for hip displaysia.....luckily there was no sign of it.
Vero.
i can explain this.......puppies are still developing their nervous system, and while it is maturing some nerves will make our pups do silly/funny things like what you have explained.in fact my human daughters leg does this, and i asked her doc he told me the same thing....so it is totally normal and fine
I agree, much of this is probably puppy growth related. I hope you are not feeding him too rich a diet. The super high protein diets for puppies may not be for you. Too much protein can cause excessive growth and later problems. Better to take them off puppy food after about 6 month and go with a good adult formula.

Another thought is thyroid related, but let's let the guy finish growing first.
