Cat trouble

Does anyone know why a healthy 7y/o would lose it's hair, looking like the symptoms of hypothyroidism? The strange part is the hair grew back, now it's happening again :( It looks like someone shaved her to the skin.

Vet time! It sounds like an imbalance of some sort- if this happened to my girls, I'd be taking them in. It's not seasonal shedding, right? Some animals shed a lot in spring and fall as they change from in between their winter and summer coats... but if it is down to the skin... I'd take them in. Let us know how it goes... poor kitty!

Thyroid, kidney problems, diabetes, ringworm, fleas... there are many things that can cuase that.... I would have a vet take a look, might be just allergies.?
Did Rosco find the clippers?
There are a variety of things that could cause this. One of our cats developed mange this year - and your description fits him perfectly!

A visit to the vet and a couple of doses of Ivermectin (sp?) quickly fixed him up.

Good Luck
