I'm a "Mother-in-Law" now

My son's wedding was absolutely beautiful. It went off without a hitch last night. I'm still in Washington but am headed home tomorrow. I'll post a picture or two when I get home. His bride was stunningly beautiful and he was the most handsome young man I have ever seen. :D I'm numbingly exhausted (must be because of the 4 hours sleep) and still get teary eyed when I think about it.

My adorable father made it safe and sound and is headed back to SC on the Amtrak as I type. He was a big hit, had a teeny bit too much to drink and flirted with all the girls :D I think he invited them all to come visit him at the beach, he may have more company this Fall than he plans on!!!!

I miss my puppies and can't wait to get back home and away from the big city!!!!!

Chris
Congratulations! Sounds like your dad will be partying the fall away. Maybe MTV will come and do a reality show at his house!
Congrats Ginny :D

I'm so glad everything went well. Can't wait to see pics! Congrats on your newly expanded family. :)
Ooooooooooh, pictures!!! I bet everyone, including yourself looked unbelieveable!!! I thought it was funny to hear that your dad flirted with the girls. hehehehe

I know your dogs will be so happy to have their mom back!
Yeah! Congratulations!
Congratulations - you didn't mention anything of the water fountain...will that be in the forthcoming pictures? hee-hee! I'm glad everything went beautifully!

FINALLY HOME!!!! Spent the last two days getting family to planes and trains then getting ourselves home. Can't pick up the boys til tomorrow morning :( GOSH I miss them. I wanted to call the kennel and BEG to pick them up tonight but Doug told me not to. I'll be on theoir door step at 9:01 AM tomorrow.

Didn't get any pictures of me in the fountain with my men........... but all went fairly well. Only one (ex #2) was "unsociable". My daughter (the bridesmaid) said the view on the grooms side of the chuch from up front was pretty amusing though....... the front row was pretty full.

After the wedding when the photographer was taking pictures he asked for the "Grooms family to go up front" and no one moved..... Finally he said WILL THE ENTIRE GROOMS FAMILY please go up front. It was quite a crew. Ya gotta laugh!!!!!

The Brides Family on the other hand was a respectable handful!!! HAHAHAHAH

Tomorrow I'll sort through my picture and post a couple.
Hi,

Just catching up on post and sounds like a wonderful time! I can't wait to see the photos!

Marianne and the boys
Hi Ginny -
Sounds like it was a wonderful wedding! Looking forward to seeing pictures and hearing the stories. But, we can wait until AFTER you've picked up Ty & Tasker!! :D
Congratulations!
Congrats to your son Ginny! I'm so happy you had a good time! I'd love to see pictures!!!

Karen :)
Glad you survived, there was no hair pulling, cake throwing.....everyone behaved. As for Mr. Unsociable.........that's why he's an EX! Relax with your boys. I'd sleep the clock around.

The Bride and Groom. This doesn't show the wedding party but I couldn't get them all in.

My daughter, the bridesmaid and her cousin. The incredibly expensivie tatoo cover worked. Neither my Dad or my sister mentioned or noticed!!!! :D

Not really a very good picture. Should have taken it from the back to show ya'll my "Washington DC Do" They did a great job on my hair (maybe one of the other pictures will come out better). It was piled up in curls and sprayed solid then sprinkled with sparkly stuff :D I have never had an "up do" so it was all kinds of fun. When I woke up the next morning not a hair was out of place!!!!!!!! Couldn't stand it tohough so had to take it out!

The boys are home and happy to be. Ty has spent most of the day in my lap and I'm just hanging around thinking I CAN'T BELIEVE IT IS OVER!!!!

We really did have a great time, Washington is a great place to visit but I sure am glad to be back to the hills of Speedsville.
Beautiful pics! :)
Beautiful pictures Ginny!!!! Your up-do looks fantastic!!! The wedding looked georgeous!!

OK DARCY, here's the "Updo"

It just shows how really queer I am that I ewven took a picture of my HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I never spent that much on a "Do" before" HEHEHHEHEHEHEH

I threatened to get a can of polyurethane and spray it solid and keep it that way FOREVER. I felt quite glamorous :D

You LOOK quite glamorous, too!

Va va va voom!
WOW!!!!!! How long did it take to do that??????? It actually makes me kinda depressed......for my wedding my mom said that my hair should look "natural" and for me to wear it down....yet, I look at these pictures and to this day, I wish that I wore it up! You look beautiful!!!!

P.S. Im addicted to hairspray (never can have too much of the glue on!)
I'm not really sure how long it took. We (the bride, the MOB, the maid of honor and me) went to the beauty shop at 9:30am. We all had our hair done and our make up done by a "makeup artist" (while we drank champagne) The bride and Maid of honor had their nails and feet done as well (I drew the line there!!!). It was 2:30 before we were "all done". Of course some of the make up had to be re-doen because someone would start crying and EVERYONE would start crying. It really was a wonderful expereince for a small town girl like me!!! The little dots you see are the glitter :D :D :D
OH! The wedding looks wonderful! Your up-do is fantastic! :D I myself, am addicted to sparkles!

I'm so glad you had a great time!

Colleen and Gucci George
One word to describe you, Ginny...HOT!!!!! Although, I think you should have pampered yourself to a mani and a pedi.... :D
P.S. did you get your picture taken with your twin brother???
The pictures are beautiful. I love your updo!! The sparkles are a great touch!! You look wonderful.

ONE MORE picture of the bride and groom!!! Aren't they ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!

Darcy, yes there is a picture somewhere of my twin and I. I think his wife took it. As soon as it surfaces I'll post it. But the bride and grrom are so much better looking :D :D :D I would have loved the manicure a nd pedicure but I promised my daughter she could have one after thewedding and with Washington prices I was starting to runa bit low on funds  besides no one was looking at MY HANDs !!
Ginny - gorgeous pictures all the way around! Your son and daughter-in-law are indeed adorable. Your hair was the best!! I can only imagine what kind of work went into the updo, but it was worth it! :clappurple:

What beautiful memories you will have for the rest of your life! Although it will probably be at least 3-4 years before one of my kids get married, this is making me anxious for it!

Now back to spoiling Tasker and Ty! 8)

Chris
How beautiful you looked! The makeup, the hair, the dress - all of it was fabulous!!

The pictures are wonderful. The bride and groom - both gorgeous! Sounds like everything was just perfect. What a great experience and the memories you'll have for the rest of your life.

"Marvelous, daaahhling, simply marvelous!" :D
I will warn all you Mom's of "Grooms to be", anyone who tells you that it's only the parents of the bride who who go through an emotional roller coaster at a wedding must be made of stone. I took one look at my son standing up there beaming at his bride walking down the isle and I was toast for the rest of the evening. The first dance, forget it, I was the puddle of mush wailing into my hankey on the sidlines. Luckily everyone was so busy watching the beeeutiful couple they didn't pay any attention to the old lady weeping on the sidlelines!!!!!!
OH your son and daughter-in-law are gorgeous!

As for the crying, not to worry! I don't even have to know the couple and I weep like crazy! I've stopped watching the Wedding Story!

Congrats again!

Colleen and Gucci George
What's this old lady talk?!?!

You look absolutely fabulous. Makeup was perfect and that hair! Amazing!

The bride and groom were pretty okay too. Everything looks fabulous!
Taskers Mom you are hot stuff! That pic of you was gorgeous and who's that handsome fellow next to you?

The bride was beautiful and of course the groom was sooo handsome. Great photos!

Marianne and the boys
Marianne,That's my honey Doug (I call him my Tom Selleck look alike) :D AKA man #3. We've decided to do things backwards, AFTER we've been together 20 years and treated each other with dignity honesty and respect THEN MAYBE we'll get married 8O (once burned twice shy, twice burned ten times shy....).

Thanks for all you lovely words, it really was a wonderful wedding and everything went so much better than I ever could have hoped.
