You can not make a MISTAKE in placing a Rescue Baby. I made that mistake. We got Bear from a kill shelter in Ohio April 04. His beloved owner had died of cancer. Her brother had agreed to raise her 2 sons and take care of Bear too. Instead he left Bear at the house for 4 months until the house sold and then took him to a kill shleter. The only reason I know these facts is the women that died sister found out what her brother had done and contacted the shelter and then contacted me .

Bear was in terrible shape when he came to stay with me in Texas. I had him a year when a women contacted me wanting him. Many people had inquired about him but I found something wrong with each one of them. No one was good enough for Bear in my mind. This women told me exactly what I wanted to hear. She worked with teenagers in CPS. She would take Bear to work with her everyday. Bear could have his BOYS back that he was raised with and missed so badly. Everything checked out. The women drove from Tombstone Az to Abilene Tx to get him. I have talked to her many times since she adopted Bear in April.

When Beasley showed up in a shelter in Tombstone I called and asked if she would check on this feller. I called the shelter and talked to a gentlemen that worked there and asked about Beasley. He told me he had already been adopted. We were talking and I remarked that Beasley looked very much like a boy named Bear I had adopted to a women in Tombstone. He was silent for a minute and ask for my phone #.

Yesterday I got a call from the shelter manager. The women that adopted Bear is the women that turned Beasley in. Same women I had talked to and ask her if she would pull Beasley for me if the shelter couldn't adopt him. LIES LIES LIES!!!!!!!!!!! This women signed a contract that stated if for whatever reason she could not take care of him she was to cotnact me and we would taek him back. That contact didn't mean anything. I am LOOKING FOR HER. For some reason she will not answer the phone!!!!!!!!

She didn't turn Bear in another lady did it for her. There is a 7 month old little girl that was supposed to be turned in at the same time. The shelter is looking for the Baby also. Wrong address or she has moved.....I will find her!!!!!!! The story she told the shelter was all lies. Probably everything she had told me was all lies too, although she checked out.

This is a rescuers nighmare. I did talk to the Lovely Lady that did adopt Bear { Beasley } from the shelter and feel that she will take care of him.

When you make a mistake like this one all you can do is step up and change somethings. NOW I will not take anyones word on anything. I was the one that made the decision so I am the one that is responsible. So the rules will be changed...If we do not have a person in the vacinity to stay in touch and randonly check on the Baby....WE WILL NOT ADOPT THE BABY >> ALL BABIES THAT ARE ADOPTED OUT WILL BE MICROCHIPPED WITH OUR NAME ON IT.....>> Just can't depend on emails and phone calls anymore to stay in touch with people...

A very Hard Lesson Learned. Angels were watching over Bear.......

Wow Kaye,I am speechless....I guess I dont understand people that want to adopt then recant.....But youre right, angels were watching out for this guy!!

Wow... what a story... microchipping them all in your name is an excellent idea... and an occasional home visit would be a good idea too....

I can only hope that she doesn't do this again.

Angels were indeed watching over Bear. I'm very relieved to hear he now has a truly wonderful home.

Please let us know if you ever find her. Thank you so much for all your hard work on behalf of these wonderful creatures.

Can you give her information, whether it is false or not, and a description of her to the shelters in her area? Also get one out to the other OES rescues. If nothing else, maybe she could be stopped from doing this again.

At least he did get adopted out of the shelter and she didn't do something worse to him. If nothing else, Beasley/Bear is alright and maybe this will help other OES in the long run.

Susan from SWOESR referred her to us. I talked to her yesterday morning and Pat Wolfer in Az. I will call Cindy Texas OES Rescue today. The main concern is finding the 7 month old little girl she told the shelter manager she was going to turn in also. She hasn't been spayed yet!!!!!!!!! They are checking surrounding newpapers to see if she is trying to sell the puppy. All of the surrounding shleters up to Las Vegas over to El Paso have been notified. I have found out she had been looking to adopt or buy some more.. In My Little Rescuers Brain I Think Breeding!!!!!!People seem to think she has gone over the edge. I don't know how she could have just dumped Bear. Everyone that was in contact with fell in Love with Him. He is a very Special Boy. It is just azazing because I would never have known. She sounded fine and said that Bear was doing just GREAT. Thanks to this forum and bringing to our attention that a Baby named Beasley in AZ needed help. Mercy!!!!!! Just Amazing!!!!!!!!

OH KAYE! It just breaks my heart to hear you beating yourself up like this! I always look forward to your posts as I really find you to be an inspiration to me to want to help as much as I can! If there is anything I can do to help research this lady for you from here, please let me know!

I'm always so thankful for this forum especially in cases like this! Beazley/Bear is now safe and happy! :clappurple:

It never ceases to amaze me that so much evil exists. Microchipping is a great idea, at least you would stand a chance of getting a dog back. In this case, you were one of the angels looking out for Bear. I hope the girl is safe and will be found soon.

This is why I am not allowed to go tohtis portion of this website. I get too upset. I got off the computer last night and cried, now today I am still thinking about these poor animals. I hope you find the 7 months old.

I hope there is a special place in hell for people who misuse an animal. I even start thinking about my whole relationship to the meat industry- afterall I really like chickpeas- I just can't imagine gaining the trust and love of a dog and then treating it as if it were a worn out shoe.

I once knew a wise man who said to me - when it all comes down to it "people are creeps" - while I know many who are not, it never ceases to amaze me how many ARE (creeps that is!)
