Poppy's Coming To Stay!

Poppy came for her first visit to the house last week and everything went
really well. She responded so well to my son Matthew. She didn't even freak out at the fact that he wasn't acting the same as everyone else and when we brought out his wheelchair she just sniffed it, walked around it and then stood beside him like he was a "regular" kid. It was really touching to see. The breeder we are purchasing Poppy from said she was really pleased with how she reacted to Matthew.
Poppy's coming home to stay on Friday July 29th, and we're really excited, and nervous.... I can hardly wait to take some photos of Poppy and Matthew and post them. I've been looking at everyone else's photos and they're wonderful...
Does anyone have any first week advice, insight, thoughts, that you would be able to pass on to us?

Thank you to those who responded to my questions regarding using an invisible fence with an OES. We have the "real" invisible fence and I think we're going to give training a try. Obviously we won't let Poppy out without supervision even if training is successful, but it would be nice if we could play in our yard without having to fence it in.

Congratulations. I'm glad the visit went well. I believe that sheepies have the maternal, watch over the kids instinct and it sounds like Poppy will be guarding her flock (i.e., Matthew). Can't wait to see pics.

My advice to you - get a lot of sleep tonight! It will take Poppy a few days to settle in and you'll be up every few hours. Sleep late tomorrow if you can, because it will be your last chance! But you'll by so charmed by your little one that you won't mind.

Congratulations on your new family addition and welcome!
Congrats, you have no idea of the joy they give and they are such clowns, however, I agree with the poster above, get some sleep because you will be up every few hours, especially, if you crate train em!

:D
Congratulations!!! Sleep is a must....Post pictures soon!
YAY! :clappurple: I'm so glad everything went well! I would have to agree with everyone on the sleep!

Colleen and Gucci George=>I still don't sleep! They call me Vampire dog!
