Guinness Learned to Swim Last Night

The guys were in the yard playing and I think our Dublin knocked the lil guy into the pool so she could go in, I thought, I was going to have a heart attack, since he landed in the deep end. We ran outside PDQ and there was the lil one paddling along! Then, of course, after my husband jumps in, Dublin follows! What a group! They are certainly going to keep me on my toes, so I've decided when we go into the pool at night, I'm taking Guinness in with us, our OES Paddy has no desire, whatsoever, to join us, LOL.

How cute! You have a swimmer on your hands! Drezzie absolutely loves to swim, too. Isn't it fun to watch them swim??
Chris
Good for Guinness for quick thinking and paddling....Panda was pushed in the pool by me  and she sunk like a rock. I had to jump in after her and to say the least, now she hates the pool and she definately doenst trust me around a pool.......only the sprinkler from now on ....
Yeah Guiness!!
Poor Panda - I'm sorry I laughed at your expense Panda, but your mommy has a funny way of describing your "swimming" experience!!

Karen
Way to go Guiness! I cannot imagine how cute that is!

Our last guy, Bart, for his first swimming experience, walked off the end of our dock (I guess since he hadn't seen a lake before, he assumed it would be the same as the dock? :? ) and sunk! My husband was just about to jump in after him (can I add that it was spring, and the water was not quite swimming temperature yet! 8O ) when lo and behold, he appeared! Paddling like a maddog, with the biggest, roundest eyes I'd ever seen! Needless to say he just fretted up and down the dock for the rest of his life, watching everyone very carefully, as THEY swam!

Panda: poor baby, you just wiggle your bum really hard and HERD mommy into the pool next time!

Colleen and Gucci George=>what's swimming? If it's anything like a bath, I want nothing to do with it! :(
Hey Coll.....If Panda had her way...my bum would be in the pool...she'll probably wait till winter when the water is really nice and cold 8O
OMG Darcy, she's probably been plotting and planning! Beware! She's probably waiting until you are all dressed up to go somewhere as well! 8O

Colleen and Gucci George=>Panda, I wish we had a pool!
The good news (I think) is we dont have a pool, it happened at my best friends house...and she Does a lot of entertaining and loves to have Panda over....I will not wear heals or dry clean only, when Panda and I visit Lynns :D I think she is plotting.....picture this...

Darcy in a nice dryclean only dress, full priced heels, a glass of wine in one hand and a cigerette in the other....no way to balance myself....and Panda tearing around the corner....OOOOOOHHHHH NNOOOO...big eyes....a scream....and plastered hairsprayed wet hair, mascara running, sputtering and swearing...Panda with her bottom wiggling with the look of "paybacks are hell" smile on her face....yes, Ive though of the whole thing already.....Im prepared!!
LMAO Darcy your too much...lol

Pepsi only gets within a few feet of the pool. Close enough for him after we put him in last time. He swam frantically to the steps. lol Got out looked at us like how could you!! Then ran inside soak and wet and jumped on my bed.

Elissa
Bailey is the same as Pepsi - his one swimming lesson was enough for him. Now he keeps a respectful distance from the edge.
I always think that they should be taught to swim just in case something happens.
Last summer we were at a friend's house and Carl was chasing their 2 dogs around the pool and yard. Well, apparently he doesn't corner like a race car because he took one corner too closely and went right into the pool. Luckily, he had been swimming before because he popped right up, did a lap and then climbed out the stairs. Didn't even phase him!
OMG...Darcy you are hilarious! I'm glad you are prepared!

I agree that sheepies should learn how to swim, just in case! Bart really scared us when he fell in the lake!

I will have to find GG a watering hole soon! All the beaches around our place have those dreaded "NO DOGS ALLOWED" signs! I am on the search for "NO SCREAMING KIDS OR LARGE MEN IN SPEEDOS" beach where GG and I will enjoy many an afternoon! I am also very anxious to put swimming goggles on GG's head, I think he would look very "sporty"! If anyone has directions to a beach like this by us, please PM me!

Colleen and Gucci George=>Which way to the beach?
   Colleen, If you find that beach, let us know. It'd be worth the drive!
Bunkie did the walk right off of the pier and swim. But now you can't keep her out of the lake, thats the first thing she does when we get to the cabin. A huge bellflop right off the end of the pier and soaks everyone who is there. She has hip checked my aunts dog in the lake off the dock and my 85 year old grandpa. (That was funny, a little scary but funny to see, he npw calls her the same pony).
