Hello all-haven't been on here to email for ages so thought I would share with you about Sprocket having a "small op" to remove what was a "skin tag" that he has had since birth. It had started to go into a hard lump so time to take out vet thought. All went ok-whilst he was "knocked out" the vet nurse rang to say he had a tooth that could be uncomfortable so should they take it out?-"well if needed to come out then yes please do it " I said. We picked him up later that afternoon-he had 2 teeth out, was dribbling blood and was on his legs where he had been laying with chin on front legs, was also on his ears fluff. 2 types of antibiotics and bottle of pain relief. £ 300 more than I was expecting-teeth are expensive!! My job today is to trim, brush and was parts of him now that he has a couple of days to get over it all. What a mess he is in though-he can't open mouth to far-think hurts jaw as were back teeth-he won't leave my side and just keep whining-poor baby-I feel awful though it was a good job done. He now has a very runny nose. His mouth still has the same smell as before which was started all this off!! xx xx |

Poor baby! |
Sprocket is back to his old self now-took a while and I was rather concerned but he is barking again and wagging his tail. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx |

Could the smell possibly be coming from the hair around his mouth? Did you ask the Vet? Glad he's acting like himself again. |
Now that his mouth has healed well and he is now off all medication both his tum and mouth are normal again-no upsets or smells. I try to keep his chin fur short because it is always wet and mucky and clods together. I try to wipe his chin after a drink but he finds various places to drink around the garden. He has started to eat long grass now though! ?
