Raw bones?

Has anybody tried raw bones as treats? We get caribou up here, and often I have been offered raw bones. Has anyone given a dog food pup/dog raw bones as treats?

ONLY raw bones, never cooked. Raw are soft and chewable. Cooked are dry and splinter. I give K-dog raw femur bones but in 3"-4" lengths. The marrow is licked out and the bone is gnawed clean of all meat. Then they sit around the living room looking like a dinosaur dig until I collect them.
With caribou legs, I used to put the bbq on high, and quickly sear the meat on the bone, turning after 5 seconds. Does that ruin the bone? I had to for the first pyr mix I had, as she could not take raw period, the lab mix had raw, and so did the border terrier. The breeder does not do raw at all. So I know diarrhea will be a show up, but not really sure if my quick cook affects the bone.
I don't think the bone dried with such a short sear. Yes, each dog varies with their ability to consume new foods including raw. I've been blessed all of mine had cast iron stomachs: OES, Pyrs, Newfs, Irish Wolf and Sibby. Make sure that caribou is fresh, the older the meat, the more chance for nasties to colonize the meat. Searing doesn't kill all the bad stuff it is there.
Thanks for the info :)
