is it me?

Or does it seem like OES.org is not lively? I want to learn so much before I bring my new pup home, but would like to learn from people who have had previous experience, rather than google!
I like stories, which is why I joined. But it seems to me, that there is no one on much, even on the fb page?
I will be posting pup pics on the fb page, only because I do not have the ability with my blackberry to do it here, hopefully Ron can crosspost for me, or load them for me here. I want to see it perk up in here, I have enjoyed reading previous posts, and have learned much, but there is nothing like a good, fresh conversation!
:)

I just lost my long post....

well I admit I used to check in every single day -but I don't anymore. I was never a huge poster but I did read every post that came through for many years. I think facebook has taken over. I am not a big fan of facebook. I think people often show their butts on facebook, and frankly I don't want to deal with butts. I just don't have the energy for that anymore. We have a really nice group here - at least we were able to pretend we did for quite a long time. We sometimes disagreed, but at least we did it without a lot ugliness. I experience ugliness on FB daily.
I really wish the forum here was big and active again. We really do have so much to give - there are some really great minds here - really great people. I don't know how much the others check in anymore. But I am still here a few times a week at least. Don't let it stop you from asking - I will answer when I can - and I am sure you will generate some discussion.
Wish I could help more..

You're the best! :wag:

Oh the memories we made here....
I still check in here 2-3 times a day.
Shame that the rest of the crew doesn't pop in any more.
Val started a little resurgence back at the start of the new year but it didn't last.
I guess we can blame FB.

This board not only helped me with sheepdog stuff but just generic dog stuff as well. Everything I know now was due to this board.
All the care I was able to give my boys was learned from OES.org.
I agree with the learning, I am starting with the puppy stuff, and working my way through all of the questions and replies, just to refresh my memory on puppy rearing!
Perhaps while reading my own questions will answer themselves!
I still check in here too. I think that the challenges of posting pictures here had some impact, as well as the dreaded Facebook. I learned so much here, as Mady was my first dog. Ever. In my whole life. Same with my husband. So the learning curve was very steep. Some of the people that I met on here have become very dear friends. I will try to post more. And will try to figure out how to post pictures!
Oh the memories! Ron do you remember the very first time we used the chat room? As I recall, I had just gone to see about a dog someone posted here on the forum that was near me. It turned out to be a really sickly dog and I was so worried and needed the advice of our great members. That help and the reaching out of some really helpful people completely sold me on this group and the people in it.
And then the late night chats ever after for a long time- while Mandy was working late and you and I couldn't sleep- and talking to Vic in the chat room. We accessed more technology than they used to get to the moon!

Well :) I think you are all awesome :) and extremely helpful :) and did I mention awesome?!?
I do need to warn you, though, Becky. When I first joined here, I had one dog, Mady. I had never had a dog in my life. Now I have three. Sheepdogs are like potato chips, it is hard to stop at one. We spent today doing a photo shoot, with a proper photographer. Tomorrow we are doing some agility practice. I have become what I used to mock, a crazy dog person. You remind me of me, back nearly 8 years ago. I am so excited for you. But I won't be at all surprised if, in a year or two, you end up getting a second sheepie!
I would not doubt that either! Lol
I have never been a big poster however, I relied on the site for so information and support when Kirby was young. I do recommend this site to anyone with questions regarding their OES, best out there. I like to check pictures on facebook, but really don't put any up either. I am so grateful this site is still here. Its great!
I hang my head in shame as I've not logged on in ages. I don't do FB so can't blame that, just busy with other things. The number of OES in the country drops so fewer owners around. I'll try to remember to check back from time to time

Who could possibly forget Shellove and Vic DaMan?

More tech than the moon shot, to talk to your husband in the next room!
Guess we need more new puppies, now if Ron really wants to help he could buy us all an brand new puppy then we could all post very regular, saying what they are up to. What was that Ron- No hope? Worth a try. Seriously though I think people now have to work more to pay the bills, I know we do, so there isn't so much time for me on the laptop. I have a couple of knitting commissions also so knit and read at the same time!! The other very sad fact is that a lot of our sheepies have gotten older now and the inevitable happens. I would love to be on here more, it is the top of my "favourites list" . xx xx
Yes, Ron should buy us all puppies-what a brilliant idea!
I'm in!
If only...
NEW PUPPIES RON??!! WWOOOOooohhooooo! I can't wait. Actually we did just have this discussion at the supper table. Our Zeke is getting really old really fast and I don't want Ozzie to be an only dog. He is learning bad thinks from cranky old Zeke and I think he just needs a new little buddy/ Plus - puppy breath!
