Pink stains

I've a problem with my dogs white coat - not on his beard but under his ears, on the top of his head, a little on his neck and a little down his front. The skin is clear and there is about 1/2 inch of white coat, then there is a line of pink/brown, almost the colour of a tear stain, which looks as if it's growing out, and then the ends are white again. I've tried various shampoos etc but it just keeps coming back. My vet took a sample of hair and had it analysed but nothing was found, I've changed to a dermalogical food and he has filtered water. Someone suggested it could be the water I wash him in, but I've never had this problem with any of my dogs in the past, and I've owned, bred and shown OES for almost 42 years !! I don't have any other dogs at the moment, so it's not from another dog licking him. Anyone got any ideas as to what could be causing this ???

That's very odd
I just wish I knew what was causing it and then we could hopefully get rid of it. He is a show dog and is an International Champion, but we obviously can't show him with pink stains !!
We have a similar line in some of our whites;
I figured ours out but it's a blue grey colour not pink... perhaps a similar cause however.

We were using this VERY strong whitening shampoo, and it stripoed the pigment right out of the girls coats, and it went almost grey/blue looking because it had no colour and was just pigmentless weird clear stuff.
Thanks, what shampoo were you using ? I've tried several different ones, probably different in UK to what you get. Maybe they are just too strong for his coat.
Nothing to do with the pink stains but just wondering where abouts in England you are. I am in Kent. xx
We are in Rugby, in the Midlands. Myself and another OES exhibitor hold get togethers twice a year for anyone who has an OES, whether they are pets, rescues or show dogs. We usually have a combined picnic, have a demo on grooming etc, a raffle to raise funds for OES rescue, and it's all for free. If you're interested, let me know and I can let you have the details. We have one at Ashridge Estate, Hertfordshire, and one near Birmingham.
