For all you who feed Merrick dry kibble - a question

Our vet recommended Merrick grain free (not chicken) for Rufus.

Is it necessary for him to have a dog food specified for large breeds? (He's 65ish lbs at 6mos right now) Or is it acceptable for him to have the regular grain free diet? Thanks in advance for all your help!!!
gina (and Rufus)

for puppies, the large breed variety of food for OES is really important. It's lower in protein, which slows the growth, allowing them to develop at a pace that is better for them. And when you see how fast they grow, it's hard to think that they might be doing it even faster on a food that isn't Large Breed specific!
