Thank you forum. Re: bloat

i have not been I here in a long time. But I have been here for years. Thankfully. Because of the friends and knowledge I gained on this forum I was able to recognize bloat symptoms in my bogey. I rushed him to an emergency vet last night. He had surgery and is recovering this morning. So far all is ok.

This forum saved my bogey! Thanks for all your knowledge and friendships over the years.

So glad to hear you caught it in time, bloat is one of my fears for both my dogs.
Thank goodness.

What symptoms did you notice first?

So glad you caught it in time!
It was my biggest fear too. I do everything to prevent it. But it happened. Bogey started to try to vomit and could not. I thought they happens occasionally. But it became frequent. He started to look confused or dazed. Walking around. Could not sit. I then checked his tummy. It was very distended. Immediately got him in car. It was amazing he could walk and got into car. I could not lift him.
Bogey is home and doing great. He will have to go back for staple removal in about 10-14 days. He is on lots of Meds. He's eating and drinking.
It's scary I almost lost him.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery. :crossed:
Thanks for letting us know the symptoms he had, glad he is okay.
:hearts: That's great. :hearts:
:wag: It's so much knowledge here - means a lot to many, I think! :crossed:
So scary! I am happy that he is recovering. :cheer:
