Kdog and weather

Poor thing is used to boring old weather here but lately it's been different. Instead of sunny weather screaming towards summer with hot dry weather, we've been having cooler--wetter--and a few thunder booms. Snow visible on near-by mountains. Kensie is not impressed. Last evening she camped atop my foot.......that's one way to beat edema. Today she broke the 100 yd. dash record from the back field to the garage with just minor rumbling thunder. And going outside for "business" she seriously wishes I'd roll out a dry carpet for her needs over the lawn. The chance to chase a feral cat from the yard was debated, "Do I or don't I?" she did :clappurple: She did not inherit her ancestors tolerance for wet cold weather. She's a desert-dog

As for me, I'm heading for more clothes. The furnace is turned off so the cooler can run. Most years we'd be starting to suffer with the heat. Maybe next week...........

Icky weather, we have rain too here in Alberta. It's usually dry and sunny most of the year but we do get our rain in June usually. Monty doesn't mind the rain, unfortunately as he is still running around like a crazy dog getting very, very muddy. He doesn't enjoy bathtime as much afterwards.
It looks like Kdog might have a little Aussie in her. Both of my sheepies Helene and Mickey Finn will go out in the rain in they need to go potty, but Declan will cross his legs and hold it in until the rain goes away/ Proof was yesterday, all 4 dogs take a long, couple hour nap in the afternoon, as soon as they get up, I remind them to go out and go potty. That reminder is really for Mickey Finn the baby so we don't have any sprinkler surprises, it just happened to be raining a short rain and the time and I thought, oh no, he won't go out and potty, Mickey Finn surprised me and went right out into the rain and Helene went right out behind him. Asia and Declan were standing looking out the sliding door window and I swear I heard them say "I'm not going out there and getting wet. I'll hold it." lol The good news, at least to me is that Helene loves to swim in the pool with me and I think Mickey Finn will too, I'm happy,
Yep, I hear those same words, "I'm not going out in that........I'll hold it." She will even go out the door and stand on the porch, "Nope, uhuh, I'm not going." She's fortunate not to be living where rain lasts all day and night. No, I guess I'm fortunate.

How wonderful to have a swimmer!! Opening the pool is far from my mind right now, night temps are still in the 40's, most unusual.
Funny how different they all are. Gracie would sleep outside in the backyard, rain or no rain. Mady is a princess and doesn't like to get her precious paws wet, but if sheep herding then all bets are off and wet mud is fine. Virginia, of course, is laid back and mellow and not fussy either way. Thunder doesn't seem to bother them, luckily. So far, anyway!
I have more proof that I think Mickey Finn will like the pool, he walked right in on Chuck this morning while he was taking a shower and stayed a minute. Helene used to do the same thing when she was smaller. She still does try to squeeze in. lol

Mady, Tiggy salutes you!! Rain and wet feet in the tiled back court yard? Ewwww, yuk!

Dogs in the park? What wet grass? Sheep? What mud and sheep poop?

The ladies have their priorities firmly sorted!!

I think that Tiggy had a bit too much influence on Mady, even from across the world.
A night of thunderstorms, but little rain. I sat in a chair, she camped on my feet, blanket over her. Lights and television on until storm left around 3 am.

Oh wow, I didn't realize that she was quite so scared, poor girl. :ghug:
I consider her fairly good considering she doesn't stand all the time, shake and drool in my lap like so many previous have done. The best was Glacier who broke Into the house, tried to get into the basement via husband's closet.......we don't have a basement.......and ended up on our bed buried under blankets and pillows. At least she didn't try to dig a hole in the mattress!
