| There is a right way and a wrong way to introduce dogs...There are a ton of variables - By that I mean your MIL's dog doesn't reside at your house, just visiting BUT is an extended visit. I'm not sure how much of the "rules" apply but for a harmonious next visit you may want to do some research on how to introduce a new puppy I would think you could make the guidelines fit your situation. Has the bichon visited before? Probably thought you got it a toy and wondered why you didn't take the batteries out!!! From experience I know you can't just walk a new dog into a home where dogs already reside and just expect them to all get along. There are a few steps you can take to make the magic happen. You would need to reverse it a bit and maybe every time they visit. It isn't a big deal and holy cow does it pay off! |
