ALEVE Overdose

Hi Everyone..........
Just wanted to share a story, and hope you never encounter this.
Jyssy my oes 7 month old male took a bottle of Aleve pain medication from my friends pocket. I came home from work the next day to fing jessy vomiting blood and unale to get up. Several feet away was a chewed bottle of Aleve pills. The total amt was 200 pills in this new bottle, but i could onlt account for 170 pills. I called PET POISON CONTROL 800 213 6680, the vet answers the phone, and I was asked the name of the 24 hour hospital I was taking Jessy. POISON CONTROL called in advance and had 8 IV meds set up for jessy. I was also told had this been motrin, aspirin, or tylenol, it would have not been as dangerous. These meds can be flushed out tof the system in 1 day. Aleve however has a long half life and will stay in the body for 8 days. jessy was admitted to the ICU x 10 days. He was getting IV fluids at 300 ml/hour to hydrate his kidneys. He was on 8 stomach meds as his stomach had already started bleeding. A large could die from just 1 225 mg pill. jessy had taken 30. Remarkably his blood tests that were done every 4 hours x 10 days. his kidneys were not concentrating the urine as it should and this might be the permanent damage.St Francis and all his angels must have been with jessy. hwas discharged aft 11 days. His kidnesy have begun to concentrate urine a little better and he will have blood work and ua done every 2 weeks x 3 months. Poison control said jessy was a miracle.
Please keep everything out of their reach. Check friends pockets if you have to. Don" t be stupid like I was. Thanks for letting me post this.
Please put PET POISIN CONTROL on your refrigerator 800 213 6680. This number is for the entire United States

Great information, thank you for sharing.

I'm so glad that Jessie is doing better.

We are Aleve people and I had no idea how dangerous one pill could be.
