Did you ever have to snow blow your back yard?

Well I had to yesterday.

We had 16.5 inches here.
I didn't realize we got so much but noticed the boys weren't getting around very easy back there.

I went back there last night with the blower to cut some paths and clear an area.
I was like, holy crap, that's a lot of snow!
No wonder they were having trouble.
Look at the pics below to see how deep it was compared to Brick.

Never had to snow blow a yard before.

You are a good dad.
He will soon be asking you to move to Arizona. We might join you, I am finding the winter tough already and it is barely December!
And here's a short video of them displaying their newly cleared yard.

I guess I am lucky...my lab and golden retriever clear it for me by running around and plopping down and then the two princes (Beau and Gunner) will venture out and follow in their path!

Brick used to bound thru the snow with gusto.
But I think his age and Cushing's are making him more hesitant to do that.
It's too deep for Benson, too! Besides the 2 paths we cleared with the snowblower, Hubby wears snowshoes when he takes her out. She bounds along on the paths he makes, but rarely goes off of them when it's this deep. It's hard to squat when the snow is up to their hips!!

Mark, you are an awesome dog Papa.

Hubby would snow blow paths for Oscar on the lawn of our last house. We were on a hill, backing up to a golf course, so the wind would add huge drifts on our property.

Oscar is a big boy, but after 22 inches of snow, plus drifts - even he had trouble doing his business!

Holy cow!!!! How in the world do y'all survive up there??? If it snows down here, once in a blue moon, we shut down. I will never again complain about the cold down here in South Carolina.
We average 120-130 inches per season.
We're equipped to handle the snow.
As a matter of fact, no one does it better than Central New York.

Syracuse is the slowest city with population above 100,000 in all the U.S.

And areas just to the north east of us (Tug Hill Plateau) can get up to 400 inches per winter (not a typo).

But I would MUCH rather deal with the snow than hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, wildfires, mud slides, big bugs, poisonous bugs, and venomous snakes any day of the year.
I'm with you Mark........and also check off snow. That's why I'm where I am. Sorry your guys aren't into submarine snow plows, that's for the younger dogs. Snow is norm for you and norm is good. May you have enough for the area's needs.

Ditto!!
I'm afraid to speak because I just know I'm going to jinx myself!!! It has been so mild here thus far. I took Steel out the other morning (in my bathrobe) I swore school was going to be cancelled because of the wind chill. My shins were numb when we came in! I kept checking the computer and it said 23, 24, 27 degrees and I thought what the heck?! Oh I'm getting old! Of course Steel was loving it! I usually shovel the back yard... no snow blower. I live on a huge hill, no way it could be done. Lots of dog rolling going on here! I have a service who plows me out so I have reflector sticks in every where...My middle 2 legged babe Davis just said a few days ago why do we even have those ugly things up it isn't even snowing - I said SHHHHH! Funny how allllll of my dogs forget to go to the bathroom when the snow is out there. They go out and play for 15 minutes, come in and its like a light bulb goes off WHOOPS forgot to potty!

The above sentence was supposed to say:
"Syracuse is the snowiest city with population above 100,000 in all the U.S."

Stupid autocorrect.
Mark, was 16.5 inches from one snowfall?????

Yes. It came all within 24 hours.

Not really too uncommon around here.
Remind me never to move to Syracuse. Although northern Illinois isn't much better as far as weather...
