Best Doggie bed for OES

I have a question: Do any of your dogs use a Coolaroo dog bed or an "off the floor" dog bed of any kind? Do OES prefer to have a padded bed?

Please advise. Thanks so much.

Our two prefer the floor surrounding the floor A/C vent... We've bought them several beds and they still prefer sleeping on the wood flooring or the tile when able.

Vance,

Thanks so much for your reply.

They prefer your bed!
Benson loves her big round doggie bed. (http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3307+1+14480&pcatid=14480). It sits in my office, and she likes to keep me company.

BUT - she also likes the hard wood floor in Hubby's office, and the cement floor in the mud room when the weather gets warm. We don't have AC, but the summers here in Central NY aren't overly warm. A shaved belly and a floor fan keep her happy in the warm weather.
Thanks to everyone who shared with me what their dog prefers.......This will help me be a good OES mom when my puppy arrives.
Mine like their dog beds (I call them pillows) from Costco. Oliver and Macie like to eat their treats on them. Oliver is my older boy and really likes the memory foam orthopedic pillow/bed I picked up for him from Costco. He too likes the floor or rug and likes to lay in front of the little heater. Sometimes he needs some help getting up off the floor or rug but not the pillow. And YES they do like your bed the best!!!     Macie is really liking to nest in my down comforter though! Goofy Sheepies :hearts: :hearts:
I wish we had a Costco.....I'll check into that. Thanks so much! Tammy
Both my dogs like the floor too but the best investment we made in a dog bed is purchasing a double ikea memory foam mattress and folding it in half and then putting a double quilt over top to keep it clean.
We have had it over two years and there is no sign of it becoming lumpy and squished down like previous dog beds.
The initial lay out of $200 for the mattress and $40 for the quilt cover was a lot but I think it will last many years and the dogs love it. It is thick, large and comfortable.

Awwwwwwwww, love the picture of them :wag:

I'll be looking for beds soon. Can't wait.

Petsmart has a "top paw" x-large orthopedic egg-crate mattress with fleece on the cushioned side. Presently it is onsale for $69.00,,,,fits perfectly into the x-tra large wire crates. Warrenty x 5 years. jessy prefers the bathroom, but is crated at night, and seems to like it. it is 4 inches deep. Good buy!

My two mostly sleep on the floor. I do have 2 dog beds- one in the bedroom and one in the living room. They sleep on them part of the night, sleep on the floor part of the night. I sprung for a more expensive bed-- Orvis makes a really wonderful memory foam dog bed. They are not cheap, but they have a 100% warranty against any sort of damage or wear. In the 5 years we've had them, I've gotten brand new replacements twice. 2 large dogs can wear on a bed, regardless of how gentle they are, as does packing the bed in and out of the car, to the kennel, off on vacation, etc. Orvis has never given me any trouble about replacing damaged beds. One time the mattress broke in half inside its cover. Another, the liner tore while washing. Both times we got a completely new bed for free.

It's great customer service for a dog bad that the cat really enjoys.
