Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone? Are there any sheepies out there dressing up tonight?
Remember before you go out tonight to put your pets inside where they can be safe from all of the trick or treaters.

Abbi actually sat out with me and passed out the candy. She knows most of the neighborhood kids, and she loves going to the elementary school, so she had to be out there for Halloween. She got lots of attention and no one looked the least upset at her presence. Of course she was laying down for most of it.

One of the trucking groups (you know the group of kids being shuttled form neighborhood to neighborhood by truck or SUV) saw Abbi standing in between our jack-o-lanterns and just past us by. The other neighbors called over asking if they could borrow her next Halloween. They figured it a bonus that only neighborhood kids would come to the door!
I had to burst heir bubble, as many of the trucking groups came any ways. And who cares, the kids seemed to be having a blast. Just wish the cars and trucks would park at the end of the street. Too much traffic for my liking.
Jack and Annabelle walked with us and the kids while they went trick or treating around to all of our neighbors, or at least the ones we know. It seems we were not well known in our small suburban neighborhood until Jack and Annabelle came along, and now everyone knows the sheepies and since we come with the package we get a quick hello as both dogs get baby talked and loved on. They love it. We take them with us to the elementary school as well. They get lots of attention there. I have noticed some of the parents shuffle they're kids away from the dogs and haven't seemed too pleased with them there, but most are very friendly. It seems most people don't know what an OES is and they want to know. Jack might look a little intimidating because of his size, but he is just a big cuddle bear. He would lick you to death or sit on you, but that is as far as it would go.
It sounds like Abbi had fun with as many kids as her heart could desire. She is probably wondering why everyday can't be as fun. :?
Who says she doesn't get it every day.
Yesterday we had a lot of shopping to do and needed to check out a new kennel for out Thanksgiving trip. So Abbi went with us. The kennel was a disappointment, but Abbi collected many cuddles, pets, and flattery at each place we stopped, from the door clearance shop to the numerous Lowe's and Home Depots, to the last place -- Petsmart! Today we were hanging in the front yard and the neighbor's girls came over to pet her while they discussed school. I went for a walk and was stopped 4 times by well wishers and a new neighbor.
OES collect fans like lint. She even has several dogs that follow her about now. It's sort of strange. Her pads keep getting inflamed from an allergy or autoimmune response, so now we have to go around in socks. So even the parents who grab their kids to the side are stopping to ask about her...
And she so loves it.
