| I know, "Man, that sucks," doesn't do it justice but it sure does! I can't even imagine how bad 114 must be without air conditioning. I feel for you.
If it's any consolation (which I'm sure it isn't), I got ready this morning, left the house looking good and looked like I got hit by a hose by the time I walked from my car to my office. The humidity is so thick, it ruined me. I hate cold winters but I hate all this wet heat too. At least you got away from that! Yuck! |
| Jill, yeah I remember those days too. Your hair looks good when you leave and by the time you get to the car its flat....no amount of hairspray works......I have mine in a short ponytail....with my bangs plastered of to the side...gross....at least I dont meet with any clients today!@! |
| My hair is fine and almost straight so the humidity makes it frizzy and fluffy. In fact, it looks very similar to when I first woke up. Makes all the blow drying and straightening completely useless.
Stupid humidity. |
| Wow Darcy, sounds like a rough night... hopefully tonight will be a better one!
They figure these higher than normal temps are going to continue for at least 30 days without much of a break (at least basically for all of Canada) The heat wouldn't bother me as much if it wasn't so humid here... makes the air so thick and heavy it's hard to breathe.... |
| Darcy,
I truly feel for you as I know what you are going through. It sucks. At least we had fans. Well maybe I can make you feel a little better.... It's supposed to be 124 here today. If it gets that hot it will set a new record here. The hottest it has even been on record was 123. Luckily I have a Dr's appt in Orange County and Hayley and I will be getting outta here. I don't know if Pepsi would be good left here alone without his brothers. So he is coming with me. On the way home I will be picking up Harley and Peanut...poor guys have been in the kennel at my SIL's since Thursday morning....all because she's nuts. I could have picked them up on my way home on Saturday but she didn't want me at her house when nobody was there..... I don't understand her sometimes. All I had to do was walk into the kennel and free my dogs. She wasn't around yesterday so my poor puppies have been away from home for no reason. Well I am rambling now...lol I hope the power comes back soon!!! Elissa |
| okay, no its not 124.....yuck....and elissa youre right, tyoing with one hand is hard....im typing and holding a chewy for panda so she can get it started,,,a whole day with her at the office.....oh boy.... |
| LMAO!!!Its funny I was laughing at your story, and altho I feel your pain,I have to say for me bring on the heat!!!I love HOT weather |
| Hey Tanya, I love the heat!! I grew up in MI, so I'd rather be too hot than too cold...but this is ridiculous!!!! If I were near the beach I'd be fine...heck I would have rather slept on a beach than inside my HOT and STICKY house!!!! |
| Darcy....
I don't know about near the beach.... It was discustingly muggy and sticky there on Friday night. Tanya, I usually keep my house around 79... Being that I am from the cold too like Darcy...I am from NY.. I do prefer the heat! Glad to see you back!!! We missed ya! Elissa |
| Any news Darcy? Is the power/AC back on yet? |
| Nope not yet...I did find a freezer to borrow...at noon I have to go load up my food and take it to her house...drag! |
| Yes - that would be a giant PAIN. Still....better than losing all that food you just loaded up on at Costco! Hope the power is restored quickly! Otherwise you'll have to find a hotel for you & Panda tonight. Any Red Roofs nearby? |
| Yeah!!!!WE HAVE ELECTRICITY!!!! Dropped Panda off at home, turned the air down to 72....it should be nice and cool when I get home...better yet, I dont have to schelp my food all over town |
| I think it could be a little more humid here. |

Glad you have the electricity back! Stay cool and catch up on your sleep! It's great your frozen food is ok, that is always the way-the electric quits after you buy the big order This brings up a memory of a power outage disaster- when the Big Red Boat( from Newport RI to the island we lived on in Narragansett Bay. The power was out for about a week. Talk about a bad day for that Captain and crew, let alone the passengers... and the residents on Jamestown...... |
