Small intestinal disease

Hollie for the last few months has been suffering with her anal glands so we thought.
Last week she had spells of runny water poo for a few days then back to normal but this week the same thing. She went off her food although always has been a fussy eater. My vets just keep giving antibiotics for her.
Well I have now found a vet that knows about oes thanks to the rescue.
Hollie has had a thorough examination.questions were asked etc. The vet thinks she may have small intestinal disease hence why food gives her the runs. She is now on a course of antibiotics and on a hypoallergenic dried food. No trouble getting her to eat it like I have with other kibble we have tried. The first thing they are doing are bloods and poo samples. So glad I have a vet who knows something isn't right with Hollie.
Hollie was in season beginning of sept and she has a slight swelling on her left rear teat so this is being monitored aswell. The vet thinks its hormonal no false pregnacy showing at the moment and the gland although tender isn't a big lump so far.
Poor Hollie 11months old hopefully the vet will find out what's wrong. :wag:

Poor thing. We have a couple of pups here with intestinal issues and are very strict diets. Patience and a good vet who doesn't give up! will help both of you over the coming years.
Just an update on Hollie. She is now 1yr old and still having problems with her food/poo.
She has been under the new vets who have been brilliant. She was put on a hypoallergenic kibble nothing else. Things were fine for a while but then she stopped eating it.
Last week she had poo and blood samples taken and waiting on results. Depending on these will help the vets decided whether to give her a general and check her stomache and bowl.
She can go 2/3 days without eating. So fussy so I thought but her tummy must be so sore inside.
For the last few days after trying to find something she will eat she has actually eaten salmon not dog food salmon salmon from my freezer. Licked the bowl clean and has eaten this for the last few days. Not had runny poo at all. Tried her with salmon added to kibble and she managed to just eat the fish and left the kibble.may not be the ideal food at moment and not a food I could afford to feed her all the time trying to find a salmon dog food she will eat and stick too without an upset tummy.
Vets ringing me tomorrow. :lmt:
Friend had a bitch from UK who had just a terrible time with food, fish worked for awhile then that failed. So it will be a constant battle. I think Gayle went thru every prescription food available.

Hang in there, they are worth it.
