Too much grooming

Hi everyone..............I need some advice regarding a situation that happened to my 41/2 month pup named Jessy.
Took him and my 4 yr old cocker spaniel to Petsmart Saturday for a bath and trim. Jessy was only going to get a bath. One of the girls suggested a i inch trim for him on the 6 inches of coat he has. I thought it would be fine.
7 hours later they called to say they were both ready. [I had called several time that day asking what the heck was taking so long....was told they would be ready soon] Ozzie, was beautiful...so was Jessy's face...until he stood up and I saw the rest of his body. They had taken him down, all but an inch of him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He looks like a labradoodle odf some kind. When I took them out of the grooming area, Jessy squatted and peed, then Ozzie followed him. My main concern was they were grooming a 41/2 month old puppy for 4 hours straight.....are you kidding me??????????????? I flipped. I am concerned about his mental staus. Hair will always grow back

He will pick up cues from your behaviour. So if you are fussing and acting like something is wrong, he will act accordingly. Try to keep things as normal as possible, normal routine, don't fuss over him too much. When my Mady was the same age, the whole grooming thing was stressful until we got some lessons on how to do it and started doing most of it ourselves (although I confess that every so often we drive back to our girls' breeder for a proper haircut). Finding a good groomer who has a clue about an OES is very challenging, not to mention expensive. That is why many of us end up learning how to do it ourselves.
thank you Maddy for responding for Jessy and me. I am trying to act as if all is ok. I have been kissing him more than usual.......but he is used to alot of attention as I am in training with him. When my dog walker took him out, she said he seemed quieter than usual... and walking a bit slow............I hope we resolve this quickly.
Thank you for your advice. I will be happy to take it.
Ellen, Jessy and Ozzie
Yes, after our first sheepie went for a bath because I was very pregnant and couldn't do it. We wanted him "nice" so health visitor/midwife have a tidy dog helping them deal with me but he was shaved to the skin with lots of nicks and sore spots. NEVER AGAIN-I have "seen to" our sheepies since then and had 2 was pregnant twice more but we managed ok between us.x
