nutrition

Hi This question is from Ellen and my OES pup Jessy....
How much protein and calcium should there be in large breed puppy food. I am giving him Nutro natural choice large breed lamb and rice. Is this food good for him. It has 27% protein 1-1.5 calcium
Yhanks for any advice.

The protein is much the same as we feed, can't remember the calcium though.x
When I got home from work last night, the 50 lb bag of puppy food [in a cardboard box], was torn apart by Jessy. The food was all over the floor................of course Jessy has been going to the bathroom last night and all morning today. Should I hold his food until tomorrow? He has overdosed on puppy food!
Thank you,
Ellen
It might be a good idea, or at least cut him back by half or more. A good bone would keep him occupied. Find a good butcher shop, preferably one that has hormone free meat and see if they have bones for dogs. The store we use (usually only for bones), sets them aside, cut into 2-3 inch sections, packaged in bags. They are the leg bone, safe for dogs. Kdog has a collection. Always raw bones, thick. Maybe being frozen would help with teething for a bit.
nawty puppy, I dont know about ratios of food. I always choose a really good one and stick to that
