Fish breath

We noticed fish breath on Dexter a couple weeks ago then Winston got it about a week ago. Nothing has changed in thrower diet though we did start a new bag of the same food shortly before this started. Their stools are fine, aren't interested in their butts (anal gland), plenty of energy (for Sheepies) and no other new symptoms. I called the vet and they suggested dental sticks, we started giving them about a week ago.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Food reformulation? How did the food smell......not rancid I hope. Good there is no change in the "end products."
Food smells the same, quality output. :)
Skye is the culprit in my home and sometimes Sonny. I assumed that smell was coming from her "coo coo" because that awful fish smell smells rotton! She seems to lick her coo-coo and I thought that was why her breath was bad. I in turn thought that was why the smell was coming from Sonny. Both dogs are fixed. Never any changes in diet here. Occasionally treats added but always the same treats. It just happens out of nowhere. I'm sure there is a reason I just haven't figured it out. It doesn't last for a week though. It maybe lasts for a day or two. I give her a ton of water, Sonny too. Just feel the need to flush it out - their system and their mouths. Skye is a very particular dog....she knows when something is off and wont stand for it. The licking is obsessive so she welcomes the added water and eats ice cubes too. From the way Steel acts so far I'm sure added water wouldn't be a problem to try!!!
I'm assuming the teeth are OK. Kdog gets salmon oil on her food so immediately after eating she is fishy. But during the day she gnaws on her raw bones or chomps on some fresh vegetables and that helps take away "bait breath." Since both of them have developed this problem, I'd be looking to the food. Maybe some probiotics would help if the dental chews don't. Here's hoping we see them on Denta-stick commercials.

Kdog only lets me brush her front teeth, back teeth are off limits which is usually where problems sit and fester.
Hi this is the problem I had with Hollie my 10month puppy. I wrote a thread under grooming.
She had a really bad smell to her that I thought was from her mouth. I checked her teeth washed her beard but still a horrid smell. A visit to the vet confirmed anal glands were full and now been emptied. This smell has now vanished.
Phew. from one end to the other!
