Vendor Report: Paws and Tails
A couple of weeks ago after having no luck finding stock at numerous other sites I again came accross the website for Paws and Tails located in Stockbridge, GA. USA. So I used the "Contact Us" option to inquire as to their stock of Madan Pin brushes and rather gloomily expected to wait a few days for a reply that said "sorry no stock". Much to my delight in just a couple of hours the owner, Vicki Youngquist, answered that she did indeed have all the brushes I wanted and in the quantities I wanted. As my list tallied to about $120 Vicki also advised me that if my order exceeded $150 there would be free shipping to a US address. Since I almost always have US purchases sent to the UPS Store in Ogdensburg NY., and then pick them up myself to avoid horrificly expensive brokerage fees and the incremental international shipping fees, this would work fine for me. The next day I placed a significantly inflated order that easily exceeded the $150 shipping criteria through the website (I increased the number of brushes purchased and decided to try a few new Madan products) and paid by credit card (No associated fees for using a credit card either unlike many other sites.) As i wanted to ensure my order would arrive at the UPS store within a week the package was sent USPS Prority and sure enough it arrived in accordance with the required schedule - USPS is so much better and more reliable than Canada Post! So with Saturday being our standard monthly sojurn to Ogdensburg for this and a number of other reasons I happily picked up my box of new toys and true to her word Vicki has shipped everything, no back-orders or short shipping with promises of items to follow. She had even included an extra item I had asked for the day after confirming the order which was the day the package was to be shipped. Needless to say I am very pleased with the service received from Paws and Tails on this order and look forward to further business with this vendor. The real test and telling of how good Paws and Tails really are will of course be if Vicki can meet my next order with equal aplomb - probably in about 6 months or so, but at this point I am sufficently pleased with how well this order was filled that I am nevertheless strongly recommendng that those seeking Madan grooming products give Paws and Tails an initial order and hence the opportunity to earn your long term business. I also had a good experience with Top Line Pets in the USA, Jennifer was friendly and helpful, answered lots of questions about the firmness of the brushes and mailed by USPS to Canada so no worries about brokerage fees with UPS.
