What a Nightmare!

Remember we were talking about Air Conditioning the other day. Well the day after the hottest day of the year mine goes out.. Thursday evening. Well the furnace to be exact, the fan motor fried. Being that we had to replace the furnace we also decided to replace the A/C unit which probably sustained some damage when this happened. Also we had a 3 ton A/C and should have had a 4 ton. It was also 20 years old and not very effecient. It was about 85 in house Thursday night I think I slept for 2 hrs. Friday morning I packed up the car with the three dogs and Hayley because there was no way I was going to stay "On the surface of the sun" (our nickname for the Desert) without A/C. I dropped off Harley and Peanut at my SIL's Kennel and Pepsi and Hayley & I went to stay at my Mom's.
Hubby stayed to do the installation of the A/C crazy man!!! I told him he should at least come out here for the night. He said it was 95 degrees in the house when he got home. He decided to open up the house thinking that will help.....dumb move it was in the 100's outside. The next time he looked at the thermostat it said HI.....lol
I called him this morning and I guess he didn't sleep too well he had been up since 5am working on the A/C I am hoping I can go home this evening.

:( Yikes! I feel for you! Did your hubby manage to get it fixed Elissa?
I can only imagine how difficult that must have been with three dogs, a baby and young child in the house! Hope you got some rest at your moms!

He is working as we speak. I believe he has the A/C unit in. He has to run new lines for it then eventually get to replacing the furnace.
Luckily Ryan is in NJ with his Dad for the summer. One less problem...
I don't think we all would have fit in my car... So I guess it's a good thing he's not here.
Poor Elissa and family! :? The furnace motor isn't the only thing that would be fried, if that was me - my brain would be, too! :P

I'm with you - I can't sleep in a hot room. The colder, the better. Good luck! Hope you can go back home today.

Well over 2 grand later we have a new A/C and furnace.
The good news is the electric company is offering a $700 rebate for upgrading my equipment :D
So that's a plus. When I got home the house had only cooled off to 85 degrees. We are happily at 78 degrees now.
I have a wonderful hubby... If we had to pay for installation and everything...on a weekend..etc it would have cost us $6,500. That's what hubby would have charged. I am so lucky...not only is he handy, but smart, funny and pretty darn good looking too :D :D :D :D
Can you tell I love my hubby? lol
I am very happy to be home. Hayley didn't sleep well last night in the porta-crib and that was only the second night Billy & I were apart in the past 4 1/2 yrs.
