Helene the water puppy

Today we brought Helene into the pool for her first swimming lesson. She did fantastic. She really seems to love the water. Chuck held her at first and she started to do the dog paddle. I than took her and put one arm under her and she swam some more. Chuck than came up behind her, but didn't touch her, I let go and got in front of her and she paddled away to catch up with me. I am so proud of her, she did so well. Helene is 5 months old. I'm sorry I don't have any pics to show.

Declan, who is 6 months old was our next pupil. Declan has been in the water one other time with us. He really wasn't in the mood today and swam like hell back to the ladder. We tried to coax him further, but he didn't want to have anything to do with it. Oh well, he'll come in again. Helene kept trying to get back into the water. (it's an above ground pool) I had hoped to take them up to the ocean yesterday, to celebrate Chuck's birthday, but we never got there. The ocean will still be there another time.

I'm really proud of my swimming puppies.

Remember, the photo side is down, so don't feel sad about pictures. She was probably cute as a bug in the water. Since I love water, I'd be thrilled to have a dog share my passion......but all I get is desert dwelling land-lubbers.

Yea Helene! Good girl. Maybe when Declan sees all the fun, he will be more enthused.

Charm hasn't been swimming yet this year. I'm a bad Mama :(
A good little waterdog!! :D :clappurple:

One of the reasons I'm so excited about Helene loving the water is I'm a water lover too so look forward to having her in the water often. Decy too I hope.
I hope you end up with two fish. Kensie won't walk on wet lawn, mud is a no-go as well. Pavement only if she "really has to go."
