How do your dogs ask to go outside?

Our dogs ask to go out side in two different methods. Monty will look at the door, come up to me then walk back to the door until I get the message he wants to go out.

Buster is way more entertaining, Susan you are going to like this.

He starts off by the back door and backs up at the same time as groaning and wagging his tail and turning to look at us. He will back up all the way into the dining room until he bumps into the book case. If we are feeling rather wicked we ignore him and then he walks back to the door and does the whole procedure again

Oh Buster, I feel your pain!! When a guy has got to go, he's got to do.......and sure doesn't want to do a dance.

Absolutely love that face at the end!!
Benson walks up to one of us, sits down, then slaps the nearest knee with a front paw. Just once.

Funny thing is, if she's outside on her tie-out with us, she'll do the same thing. She does not like to potty that close to the house!

The funny but annoying thing is that he does it every 10 minutes when it is snowing as all he wants to do is go onto the deck and shovel snow into his mouth and then back come in, so we are continuously up and down
If it is not snowing we don't make him wait.
that is so funny love all your posts
Bricky will go to the door & start scratching it. If I'm not there to see or hear the scratching, he'll come find me and either start mouthing my wrist or lick me non-stop.

Zeke is much more subtle. He'll either pace in the vicinity of the door or sit right by the door.
Domino rings bells....
That was one funny video. I have watched it two or three times. Thanks so much for the laugh.
I found it fun how he ignored whoever was running the camera, instead focusing on someone else! And then of course Monty had to come kiss the camera :)

Chewie never does much, as some other dog always has to go to the bathroom before he does, so he just goes out after they do, and after they got me up to let them out.
Bond comes to me and gets right in my face (gee, imagine that!). I think his favorite is when I'm watching TV , laying on the loveseat. He comes right up and does the Monty move - face right in my face, usually wet from his last drink!
Harley the basset is our only barker - he just sits near the door and barks in a rhythmical slow single bark, one after another with a space in between....until we can't stand it and let him out!
That was cute. :)

Opal will run to the door and rattle the blind weights. Amy will pace around the table, but usually she waits for Opal to want to go out. If Opal wants out bad enough then she'll bark once or twice.
What a beautiful boy your Buster is, wow. He was cute with his under current message. Asia and the pups use the doggie door, so I don't see the potty dance.

Now at night, the pus are in the crates so Helene will bark a quick bark, wait to see if someone responds and if we don't will do another quick bark. Declan makes this quiet "whale" like sound....I hear it, but Chuck doesn't...it's kinda high pitchy like a whale, but quiet, if that makes any sense. I take both the pups out together at night for their potty run and Asia herds them out. I open the crates and tell Asia"take'm out to potty" and she herds them right out through the piano room, dinning room and through the doggy door. I go out on the deck and tell her move them there and I point and that is where to moves them and they all go potty. Then they all come in through the door I came out of back to the crates. They go right in their crate and get rewarded with a spoon of peanut butter. Asia gets a spoon of peanut butter for her hard work as well. So for the night potty, they are usually in and out in less than 5 minutes.
Izzie and Tay don't ask to go out very often, because they get plenty of chances for personal business by default of our schedule.

When they do need to go out, they start with the "stand in the middle of the room and use my psychic powers" method. If/when that doesn't work, they employe the "stand at the top of the stairs to the front door and use my psychic powers" method. If/when that doesn't work, they stand at the top of the stairs and whine a little bit. We always get it by their third try. 8)
