Someone got shaved...

Amy is now a shaved sheepie. :) We went to someone who has a lot of experience with dogs who have anxiety and aggression issues. My 9-year-old daughter and I both went and helped, and that made a difference for Amy. She did try to bite when her feet were being clipped, but we were prepared with the muzzle and treats to keep her occupied. She's completely shaved, and she is acting so incredibly happy. :aww:

We're happy too. She had a pretty positive experience overall, and she behaved better than we anticipated with very little anxious behavior.

Sweet Amy, glad that it went well.

She's all ready for summer activities
Great news.
No rash, no stress.

And look at the cute lion tail. :hearts:
Glad this time was way better than the last time at the "other" groomer.:D
She looks really cute and tall. Is she on the larger side for sheepies? Did she seem to like the groomer over all after everything was done? What did you feel about the groomer? Like enough to go back?
Just wanting everything to go good for Amy :hearts:
Yay! So happy for amy. Glad she had a better experience!
That is wonderful news!! I hope Domino's next groomer will be as good as the one you found!!.
She's pretty average at 65 pounds. Opal is just a small collie at 42 pounds, so Amy seems larger than average when they are together.

Amy likes the groomer, and its respect versus play or tolerance. I think that is so important with Amy. We'll go back to her. Amy was really ok with everything until the second foot. Her feet are some of the very last parts where we've worked to get her used to handling. We'll keep working on them here at home and the next time she'll be fully ready.

I've decided that Amy is done being a "rescue dog". As of today, she's just a dog. She has some problems, but we don't need to make excuses or try to hide behind the "rescue dog" label. Its funny, as we shaved her down and saw her scars, it just seemed like it was time for her to be a dog regardless of her background. So here's to a new dog. :) (And she is so adorably happy with her new haircut.)
Glad she had a good time this time around. :)
My daughter has Chewie's sister Martha. She just got her spring haircut, and she is ridiculously happy. Martha loves to be shaved. She gets all giddy and bouncy :)
:yay: :yay: :yay:
Excellent!

Great idea to go with her and help. Not only could you distract her, and calm her, you also know exactly what happened in case any issues did arise.

She is lovely! Knowing how strange end of tails can be on our fluffy breed, best to leave the pom. Safer for the dog too. Feet are always difficult, often legs too. Indeed play tickle toes every day, good toe massages, trim hair or make believe trim hair around feet and between toes, ending with treats. Sounds like a good groomer who probably understood when she saw the scars of lovely Amy's body.

Kdog will probably get her spring do sometime this coming week now that Easter will soon be gone and I have my brain......and body......back. Grooming table was used for floral prep, so already set up in garage. She will not be a lovely as Amy, remember FatDog here.
So glad it went well this time! :clappurple:
