![]() I am obviously new to the web site and forums, but i certainly am not new to the OES as a breed, we have had 2 previous beloved dogs, and recently lost our Beardie at 13 years young ![]() We have now just purchased our newest family member, She is just 2 weeks old and waiting with mum up in a local farmhouse near Peterborough for us to collect in another 6-7 weeks. We are lucky enough to live in the UK in the Midlands area surrounded by farmland and livestock. My Beardie was trained as a sheep dog and she was entered in a few local competitions, but i havent yet tried to train any OES...that might change with this new addtion though. One strange thing i found whilst visiting the farm and the new additions to an already large community of OES (she has 4 OES adult dogs and 9 pups) a newfoundland, a few terriers and horses (typical english working farm) but the father of my pup is regularly seen out shooting, although not a retriever, he will sit with his master in a hide and indeed walk with him whilst shooting. I have never heard of, or seen this before in an OES. Is this unusual or natural for the breed?...just wondering !! Anyhow, nice to see you all here, and i hope to be a more regular visitor as the years go by. ![]() |
