Jumping at TV

HELP!!
My OES ( SOPHIE ) is a jumper. She jumps at the TV all the time and on several occations has almost knocked it over. She only stops when I approach her yelling. She goes right back 30 sec later. I thought this was just a puppy thing, but she is now 3 years old. My friend has Sophie's sister and she does the same thing. We have tried everything and nothing works to get them to stop.
Has anyone ever had this problem? Any help would be great.

Since I don't know all of the variables in your situation, I don't know if my method would work for you. :) I would keep her on leash anytime the tv is turned on. I would practice long down-stays when watching the tv, and I would reward her when she does what she is supposed to do near the tv. And I wouldn't leave the tv on as background entertainment, instead I'd switch to radio or pandora.

If you have a number of people in your household, you have to get them all to understand that if they are not actively watching or using the tv, it cannot be left on. And you have to get them to agree to having the dog on leash and making tv time a training time for the dog.
You really only have two choices.

Never have Sophie in the room when the TV is on or desensitise.

Is Sophie as crazy when the sound is off? if not start with the sound off but if it's the picture then you can try either far enough away with her on leash as previously said and praise for calm behaviour and very, very slowly move closer over days or weeks and only if she can stay calm. Short sessions are all you can expect at first.

Or if the room is not big enough (may not be) you either need a smaller TV :D or you could try covering much of the screen with a blanket and gradually increasing how much Sophie can see.
Thanks for the good advice. I have not tried the leash before. Tried it last night and she's not thrilled about it but we can watch tv without her running up to it all the time. I guess I'll try it for a couple weeks and then see how she does without it. :)

P.S. Sophie likes the sound and the picture on the TV. She won't go to the TV at all unless we are in the room with her ( wherever we are she follows ). I truly think she runs at the tv for attention. :)
If she is jumping at the TV for attention then that's usually easier behaviour to stop.

If she runs at the TV ignore her completely. I would turn the TV off using the remote and get up and leave the room, refusing to speak or even look at her. I would ignore her for 10 minutes or more and refuse to let her get my attention in any way.

Equally importantly if she even manages to sit quietly for a few seconds lavish praise and attention and cookies on her.

She'll quickly learn:
jumping at the TV = absolutely no attention
sitting quietly = lots of attention

If you're going to watch something that you don't want to miss by turning off the TV then put the lead on.
Glad I am not the only one who has a dog like this... Since my Lambo was a pup...oh, he's still a pup... he attacks the tv. All my dogs in the past have done this but it has passed or faded... but nope.. Not Lambo. If I watch tv, almost once during every segment, he'll growl or even race away from the tv because he's scared. He's really affected by the movement on the tv. lol It's hysterical and annoying
Georgi is the same my tv has a few scratches on the screen and At first lori tried to hide what was going on. I brought I table a few years back on put it on the back so she cannot reach it. It's when other animals are on tv she we start jumping up and down woffing at the tv. Madness that's what I say. Bit odd is that when I am in the room she won't do it and I just get a look. I have told her off about this in the past
